I was pretty psyched to be able to craft Cosmics until I realized that I had to do the Lost City quest to get to Zanaris to get to the cosmic alter. In general, I enjoy quests and stick to those I think I can do, but I'm woefully unprepared for this one.

 

 

 

My mage lvl is 40

 

my overall combat lvl is 44

 

My wood cutting lvl is somewhere around 30, but that's easy to work on.

 

 

 

I think my problem in a big way is the lvl 100+ tree spirit that pops up when you try to cut a staff from the tree.

 

 

 

Is there anyway I could hope to kill a lvl 100+ tree spirit at my pathetic mage lvl? (Can't take weapons to Intara so my magic is all I have). Is there any way a buddy could help me kill the tree spirit and have the quest still work? I know that's a wussy workaround, but I really just want to get to the cosmic alter.

 

 

 

Any suggestions and/or tips for this quest would be great.

You can take an unstrung bow, headless arrows and arrow heads to there and fletch them all to a bow and a pack of arrows. Or use mage.

 

 

 

You can have your friend stand between you and the spirit in order to kill him. I know this for sure since i stood there watching a friend of mine kill it.

Almost positive there is some mushrooms you can hide behind and just mage to your heart's content.

That's how everyone does it. Because you lose your prayer points when you go down there it's best to bring a bunch of runes and cast out what spells you can. He's not terribly hard and at level 40 you've got Fire Bolt and if you went one more level up you could use Wind Blast! Magic is your best bet I think at least.

Thanks everyone. I've heard about hiding behind the mushrooms. I think I'll try that. I also think it's good advice to get my mage lvl up so I can use wind blast and craft/buy a ton o' runes so I don't run out.

 

 

 

As soon as my wood cutting lvl is where it's suppose to be... uh... that would be 30 or 35... it may be more, don't remember... I'm going to be doing this. Wish me luck.

Fire bolt her from behind the fungus. There's a safe spot. :wink:

yep there is a lovely safe spot to mage/range from.

 

 

 

when you get to the tree hit it with your axe and run south into a C shaped set of fungus then mage him to death :)

 

 

 

make sure you chop the tree and get the wood because he does come back if you hang around to long!

 

 

 

DON'T FORGET TELEPORT RUNES UNLESS YOU REALLY WANNA END UP IN HIGH LVL WILDERNESS

 

 

 

good luck and when you do get into the lost city turn the colour down on your PC lol

ok i got one question about The Lost city quest I have defeated the tree spirit but how do i get to Zanaris.

Use a knife on the branch to make the staff, then travel into Lumbrdige swamps and there should be a shed east of the Adventurers camp. Simply enter the shed with the staff equipped and your in.

u cna beta it a lvl 3 has but he used ring of recoil lol
