Progressive Rock - Dream Theater - Saw them live yesterday, amazing. Yes - Saw them live yesterday, amazing. Porcupine Tree - Cool Band Genesis - Synonymous with progressive rock Emerson Lake and Palmer - Synth me up Spock's Beard - Funny band with a funny name. Post Rock - Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Great band if you don't mind longer songs. Silver Mt. Zion - GREAT POST ROCK. Tortoise - Sweet band. Other Stuff - Radiohead - Adventurous Electronica Rock :) Tool - Don't listen to much "Alternative Rock" but these guys are awesome. Slayer - Hey when you're angry you need slayer. The Datsuns is a NZ band that has sort of hit it big oversea's, thier newest album was produced by John-Paul Jones, the Led Zepp bassist, so they're pretty good...
