Mining Advice...

I am just wondering what you think I should do, I am thinking of going to get 85 Mining by mining Iron. When I do get members I will be getting my Range up HIGH (90+). Do you think I should:

 

 

 

1. Powermine to 85

 

 

 

2. Bank 10k Iron and powermine the Rest

Dont mine all those irons at once you will get VERY bored a set a goal of certain amount of ore you want to mine a die for example maybe between 1-5k iron ores. If you want 85 minning just powermine the whole way.

you will go insane if all you do is powermine 93K iron to get to level 85

 

 

 

besides, you should try to go for 84 mining...there's no shame in using a stout (though it is massively inconvenient to get them, but you can always find someone who's willing to buy em for you) and you only have to mine a total of 84.2K iron :)

Mine about 5k Iron Ores, then treat yourself to a combat related activity such as Pits, Pest Control, and Castle Wars for 1/2 to 1 Hour. I find this is a way for me not to quit, because it is very, very, boring.

As you can see from my sig, I am currently sitting on top of level 70 mining, and will soon start up the ol' grind to go for some more levels as I am looking for level 85 too. It seems to me, that the biggest stumbling block in getting level 85 mining is not that it takes a long time, but that it can easily burn you out. If you try to fight the iron rocks for level 85 mining all in one go, the rocks WILL win. Here is my handy dandy advice for you:

 

 

 

1) Mine the ores and bank them until you are close to level 55, then powermine (casue you will be excited at this point) until you are able to get mith.

 

 

 

2) Bank when you can, powermine when you can't until you get level 60 mining to enter the guild. This is a big step becasue when you are in the mining guild you know you are among accomplished miners like yourself. Mine there for a few days just to get the iron-sickness out of your head and build up some stamina again.

 

 

 

3) Now is the long haul to level 70 mining. If you wish to bank, go right ahead, but remember, banking, even on a good night is probably about 1/2 the exp rate of powermining. By the end (level 69-70) I could get one level powermining in one night of 2 or 2&1/2 hours. I myself banked until level 66, then powered the rest of the way to 70. Once you can get addy--get some! I got 4 ores, then went to Karamja to get drunk on rum, seriously, it was dumb, but silly and fun compared to powermining.

 

 

 

That's where i am now, my future plan is:

 

 

 

4) Powermine all the way to 85, banking zero iron ores, only banking coal, gold, mith, addy, etc. I will try to get each level to 85 all in one go, in this context, one go does not mean all in one night, it means that while working on a mining level, I will do nothing else, when on runesacpe.

 

 

 

So, that's my advice, and plan.

 

 

 

Note: Powermining is tough, but can be very rewarding, I listen to mah tunes to help me through. Also, these steps should certainly not be followed consequtively, they should be interspersed with other fun things in runescape, like quests, or anything-but-powermining-iron type things. the best way to lvl 85 mining is just to forget about strategy and just mine! for ftp i did the al karid mines with the 3 iron ore. basically i just power mined and when i got bored i would just take a trip to the bank with a full load just to mix things up.

also, powermining granite on memebrs is much faster than on free.

 

 

 

The difference between mining on free and memebrs is that every ore on free is contested.

 

 

 

On memebers, there's seldom more than a single person in al kard mines to give you a comparison.

 

 

 

I really wouldn't stress too much about skills on free. Basicly member makes skilling up 2 times as fast, and after a skill hits 70, levels begin to slow up a wee bit.

this is just me but i would save all of it and use to to make iron knives for ranging once u get your wanted level any extra can be sold :wink:

 

but yeah make sure you dont just mine iron ore till level 85 :XD: you'll exploded for me every 1000 of anything i make other than cannonballs i take a break and train something else for a bit
