Years of runescape

Right now, I'm not playing runescape. I started in late 1999, started to break away in 2003, and entirely quit in 2004.

 

 

 

I wondering if anyone here have play runescape since the days when there were only 6 servers, and the website design was amature. The weekends were terribly crowded and take hours to log on There was also an old program that opened up a small screen for you to play runescape on.

 

 

 

I'm pretty sure most of you didn't start playing runescape in 1999, but I'm just wondering if there is any old-school players that post here?

 

 

 

Don't come all in here trying to claim you are all old school and stuff, it is spam. I'm just wondering if anyone who used to play runescape all those years ago still play or moved on to something else.

Well, for starters, I'd like to point out to you that Runescape beta was released in January of '01, making your claim of starting in 1999 impossible. So, right off the bat, you're lying...may want to edit that post, most people will pick up on that instantly.

I did play runescape when it was very early, I couldn't remember the dates very well.

According to Wikipedia, centuarmage is right, from what you say, you would have been laying Devious Mud which wasnt releashed to the public.

^^^^ Before the dupe pink phats were the most expensive item in game, standing at 10mil. So he is right. Only after the dupe they dropped to 800k.

 

 

 

Then they (JaGeX) were changed to purple phats, blah blah blah... you've all probably have heard it millions of times.

I see these kind of threads all to often. What are you trying to prove? You're better or something because you started earlier? What should it matter if you're old school or not, surely it's the player that makes the game, not the year.

i would like to consider myself a vet but i haven't been playing that long started just when rs2 came out and bought myself liek 3-4 santas for 125k and a green mask for 500k and almsot had a purple for 4m but then quit for about a year (got hacked and lost my acc totally) then came back in 05' :

hm I believe purple was 7mil three years ago but maybe it rose later in the year, I don't know,

 

 

 

I'm quite old but not 1999, I do remember back when we had 5 times less servers as we do now:) and a lot of updates that we have now wheren't there yet (pay-fare, cook x, smith x, god armours?) lots of glitches still there:D and a whole lot less people, you could still go into deep wild, even with a phat on you would be pretty safe, or actually woodcut without autoers lol

what's wrong with being an oldtimer bubsa, some people just like nostalgia, you are right, the player makes the game and not the year, if people think you are a noob it isn't because of your year but because you react so annoying on things that aren't so bad.

yes they were at the time of the dupe they were 10mil, after the dupe they droped massivly, from 10mil for like 100k -200k

 

and yellows were 1mil after the dupe 1 or 2 days after, i remeber buyign yellow then, and 2 whites

 

 

 

so dont say they wernt 10mil before the dupe when they were

The good old days to me is before slayer (with mauls and whips), barrows, and ancient mage came out...

 

 

 

I wish I played when it was only RS classic... I am sure things were much more simpler yet more challenging and more fun

How would you know? I've played since around Feburary 2002, and my combat is only 88. Obviously if I didn't tell you this you would assume that i've been playing for 1 year.

Topics and posts like this drive me nuts. GOD get the facts straight before you post. And here is proof:

Secondly, STOP CALLING IT A PURPLE PARTY HAT!! Back before all of you RS2 products started getting pumped out, there were NO purple party hats. The purple party hats you now know and love were once the color pink. They were the rarest and most valuable of the party hats through the years (up until the duping of course). They topped out at about 15 million gp each (don't fight me on this... trust me, i used to merchant phats like a mad man back in classic).

 

 

 

So there. To settle of the debate and claims. There were no purple party hats in classic... they were pink. They did not "max out at 7 million gp before the dupe oh em geee"... they maxed out at around 15 mill a pop. Blue party hats being the second rarest/valuable. And unless you were an alpha tester (which only a handful were), then you didn't play in 1999.

Well pink party hats were pink in rs1 but you could just as well say they were a light purple or something if you were colorblind. And they didnt have their colors in their names, they were just called "party hat"
