Lesser Demons - which weapon to use?

Featured Replies

I want to make the most out of my visits to Karamja and get as much experience as possible before I get bored of slashing Lessers. I'm f2p and currently use a rune scimitar (slash) against them but was wondering if there is a better way to kill them. I'm looking to hit more often (hit less 0s) and deal more damage in a smaller amount of time. Any advice?

i heard from somewhere i think it was tip.it that demons are weak to magic. You could try that

There are a ton of mage and range safe spots if that is your thing. Unfortunately if you want to hit harder you need to either:

train strength

train accuracy (less zeros)

buy a battle axe (but this is obviously slower)

As attack styles go I have always used slash against them.

Get a dragon longsword, it owns rune scimitar by a lot dude. =D>

I believe he stated he's a F2P eh?

Yeah ranging do well at lessers.

About what ranging level should be sufficient to dominate lessers? I generally use steel or mithril arrows.

silverlight has the same effects of a rune long on demons, and i think its the same speed as scimitars, so i still suggest your rune scimitar unless s/light is the same speed value

50 range should be sufficient. Don't waste mith arrows on them either. I killed plenty with iron/steel knives.

Uh, he's F2P, so he can't use iron/steel knives.

What's wrong with wasting mithril arrows? They ain't expensive.

Maybe they ARE in fact expensive to a F2Player.

i went there at lvl 50 range with iron arrows. most of the time i was able to pick my arrows without people stealing it.

don't bring steel+ arrows since that place is crowded and u have at least 3-4 people trying to take your arrows.

or stick with bronze and simply leave it be

1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb.

02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb.

07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.

Prayer is good for herbs

A few things to consider...

Can you use the secret door to Crandor island yet?

There are 3 or 4 Lessers under Crandor island

and another 2 on top of it. So, that provides you with more

training places if the Karamja Lessers get crowded.

Also, there are 3 Moss giants on Crandor that you can try.

If you decide to try a Silverlight against the Lessers

then you can get a Silverlight from the Demon Slayer quest or by

giving Sir Prysin 500 gp (if you lose Silverlight after finishing the quest)

If you decide to switch to ranging the Lessers then

take a look at the Tip It Range damage table

You may find that Bronze or Iron arrows work almost as well as Steel or better.

IIRC, a lot of monsters in the Security Stronghold drop a lot of arrows.

If you do decide to range the Lessers, then always start the fight by casting a Curse on them first.

Then go stand in your safe spot and wait for the Lesser to approach.

It will stop outside of your safe spot. Now start to shoot it.

This way all of your recoverable arrows will be in the loot pile when the lesser dies.

It makes arrow recovery so much easier and limits arrow stealers.

Plus, you don't have to risk getting hit by other Lessers becuase you don't have to run around gathering arrows.

I normally never bothered to take food when ranging Lessers

since they never even had a chance to hit me.

Also, since each arrow can be used about 4 times, that can save you a lot of money in the long run.

IIRC, I would get back 20 out of 25 shot Bronze arrows when killing lessers.

Also, if you alternate your arrows shots between 2 Lessers

then you can kill "2 Lessers at once" in a non-multicombat location ;)

Hope this helps

I would recomend 60 range using iron arrows, 50 range takes to long.to kill it
