Ps3 vs Wii ad

Okay I myself would probably get the PS3, due to the fact of the wide range of games, (How many stores sell alot of GameCube games now?).

The fact they have kept a long running series of games (Final Fantasy). There will be the remake of VII and they will also have XIII.

PS3 ALL THE WAY.

thats just my opion of course.

Oh man i'm glad you reminded me of the FFVII re-make. That's going to be so awesome.

I think I have a trailer of it somewhere. :)

Square Enix denied the rumor as speculation: "Since the Final Fantasy VII tech demo at E3 2005, there have been a lot of rumors about the presentation hinting at an actual remake. While the June 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly confirms the remake for release in 2007, Square Enix has never stated this."

the June 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly stated that the video was actually a "sneak peak at a next-gen revival" of Final Fantasy VII. An official statement from Square Enix later debunked this claim, reiterating that the company had not announced such a project.

And even if there came one. There's no need to buy a PS3 for it. Hollywood proves every month that remakes suck.

No no, re-read the quotes. They haven't announced a re-make. That doesn't mean they won't.

But it certainly doesn't prove that they will.

True, but Sony know how popular FFVII was, and still is. I expect they got a huge reaction when the public saw an updated one. I expect they'll work on one behind the scenes. They might want it to be a surprise.

But then again, they might not. Depends if they'll be smart or not. ;)

What does Hollywood have to do with games though? I'm sure 9 out of 10 people who played FFVII loved it. It's one of the few games that have characters the player will care for. A remake for the PS3 would be awesome. I'm sure many would agree.

Something interesting about the PSP. Sony says how they cleared (shipped) 21M PSPs right? According to this guy, http://palgn.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=12180 , PSP has only sold about 12 mil :| Wonder how many warehouses are filled with PSPs right now.

That makes PSPs rarer. =P~

Anyway, got any official news on it? That could be a load of bull.

That would not make sense at all, if they were making one it would be a prime attraction for drawing people to the PS3 - the sort of thing they'd want to shout about from the day development started.

What doesn't have to do with Hollywood? There are artist who make soundtracks for games, actors who borrow their voice and looks for computer games. They even make games out of movies and vica versa. But what I was trying to say was that things remade often aren't really appreciated by the fans. Sure, the new TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE movie looked better than the orignal one. But was it better? Did it have the same feel, did it scare you as the orignal one did? It's always made for MORE MONEY. You know what would be cool? A completely NEW FF game, that's better than the old game. Instead of using the concept of the old game and making it look better. And so it is with a lot of things, I don't see why games should be an exception on that.

I actually agree with you on this one, it would be an excellent move on their part to re-do the game in secret and announce it like 1 week before the ps3 came out. FF7 has countless hundreds of millions of fans around the world and a remake would make the ps3 sell like hotcakes.

...however, as un-fanboyish as I can put this, the Sony-Square alliance is infact coming apart. Where Sony once had rights to the entire SquareEnix compnay, now Nintendo is slowly piece by piece buying it back from it's rival. As of now Nintendo re-acquired the lisence to Final Fantasies I, II, and VI. It owns the "Crystal Chronicals" timeline of Final Fantasy, and it full out bought the entire Final Fantasy Tactics license from Sony.

Don't get me wrong, I will bet my life thrice over that if FF7 is re-released it will go on the PS3 and not the Wii or 360. However Final Fantasy lovers should heed in mind that Sony won't be the forever producer of the game series.
