Admins fixing peoples signatures

Featured Replies

One admin recently fixed mine, because I had an image of me in real life. Which is fine and all (Didn't realize it was against the rules), but the admin deleted my entire signature along with it. :?

It didn't pose a problem for me, because on each RS forum (Which are neatly organized in my favourites ::' ) I have the exact signature and avatar.

But for other people, it poses a problem. Some people, if they have an image in their signature which isn't anywhere else in the world anymore, can never get that image back again in certain circumstances.

I just ask that when changing signatures, you only delete the part that isn't allowed, and add your message. Please and thank you. For future TIF members. :)

I tend to agree with Lep. Some admins will remove everything, and others will remove only the offending item.

I have no drastic problem with it, but one or the other should be the norm :-k

Wouldnt it be easier if everyone just read the rules and followed them? hehe

Really though , I'll throw the idea around about possibly making a temporary backup of users signatures upon editing :)

I don't think that the burden of remembering signature info should fall upon the user, not the admins. They have enough work to do and making backups of everyone's signature would just double it.

On the other hand, instead of removing an image from the signature they could just remove the IMG tags from around it, thus preserving the link.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Add a nice little button in the profile edit page for admins that automatically PMs the users signature code to them with a little note attached.

This is your previous, unedited signature. Please remove the offending image(s)/text to complie with our forum rules. Blah blah blah...

*insert sig with code tags here*

One click, no hassle. Users gets their code, admins spends minimal extra time on it after Albosky works his magic. :P Hell, you could even have that magic button insert a default "This sig doesn't follow the rules" image/text pointing to their PM inbox so nobody has to manually edit it.

Your second suggestion would be much better, Cruiser. The first one would make it so admins have to chase up users who either aren't particularly active, don't read their PMs or are just bad people.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

It's always better to remove only the bad thing. But it's way easier to remove everything LOL  but the mod is right if peps read the rules stuff like these won't happen.

My thoughts on this is that it is very simple to keep a backup of your Images locally on your home PC just in case they get lost.

My thoughts exactly...How did you get the image in if you didn't save it and upload??? Anyway, you should have a backup.
