Professor
I'm an average RuneScape player, and as many, I like training skills. Though one problem bugs me: the XP indication is unclear and sometimes difficult to decipher. To find out one's progression towards next level, one must do the following: 1. Either register the exact XP when the previous level was achieved, or seek out on fan sites. 2. Check the XP needed for next level. 3. Substract the number in 1, from the number in 2, to find out the amount XP needed to advance from the current level to the next one. 4. Substract your current XP from the xp that was needed to reach previous level. 5. Divide the number in 4 with the number in 5, to find out current progress towards next level. And all that must be done manually! I, therefore, suggest a simple addition to the XP bar. Simple or not, I'm not totally sure, as I'm not into the programming. However, in worlds it's pretty basic. The following forumla must be implemented: (Current XP - XP previous level)/(XP next lvl - XP previous lvl)*100%. That's it! The result of this pretty basic calculation should be shown in the mini pop-up, next to the "Next level at:" text, in parenthesis. Example: My woodcutting level is 72, and XP is 949,587. Next level is at 992,895. The previous level was at 899,257 (Thanks, Tip.It!). So my current progress towards next level is: (949,587-899,257)/(992,895-899,257)*100%=53,75%~53%. It's that easy! I'm impressed. - Sligo I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but, I am not sure you realize tht what you heard is not what I meant. Izzywen
I am completely fed up with guessing how far along I am in each level - whether I've done more or less than half-way. It would be much more encouraging to have a progress bar. I helped on the Black Knight's Fortress Quest Guide. Stop messaging me in game! All I did was say BKs are lvl 33, not 31! All skills to level 30!
Professor
*sigh* If it could be done that easy... getting positive replys here doesn't at all mean that Jagex will implement them, or that Jagex staff even visits Tip.It forum! So my next little idea would be: Create a thread (Which should be heavily moderated, to avoid spam, flame, and bad suggestions), and put all successful ideas there. Of course, each idea should have an author and contributors written beside. Then we must have all possible tip.it members, and even one-time lurkers, post these suggestions to Jagex. That way there will be much better chance that at least one-two of these suggestions will be implemented.

ghostman
Yeah this would be really useful. It would be like the goal siggys...except in game Currently P2P. I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand. Formerly known as: Ghstkill8, Serene Ghst, Genius Goats

dknghtshadow
Really nice idea, it would make it much easier to see how many experiments I have to kill until the next attack/strength/defence level... :o ~So pick a BC date, cause you're history.~ heh, welcome to the world of noobscape, its made up of purescape, autoscape, and sadscape, it makes up 60% of all of runescape :Feel free to add onipaladin ingame. alkatmsu
I like this idea. Especially in the later levels, when you have 7 or more digits in your xp with no commas or other markers, it can take several seconds to get even a rough estimate of how much xp you need for the next level. Irish_Geek
True with the number of digits. The least they could do is line them up when you hold your mouse over them. Once I though I was only 4k from leveling, then realised that I lined them up wrong, and really had to get 40k to level... Quality posting at its finest. Captaingoodguy
I like this idea but instead of rounding off to a whole number why not at least have one decimal place? I just think the extra accuracy would be nicer. Goals: 80/80 Range, 75/90 Strength, 77/85 Attack, 64/76 Fishing and crafting 31k natures (o.O)
Cheezy_Power
Now you need to put your mouse over the skill, and your current exp, and your exp you need to have to lvl up. Why not just add a 3rd thing into that. For example "Current exp :1'235'845 Exp to next lvl : 1'654'543 Exp needed to lvl: 418'698 (I just used random numbers) I'm not sure if thats what your idea was, but this is how I would like to see your exp needed High-alching that REALLY expensive item in my inventory looks more and more tempting with every beer I drink. aquariusman
I think what he would liek to see is not somethign that shows how far you have to go, but something that shows both how far you have come and how far is left to go, inorder to check you progress. Maybe add a 3rd or 4rth line saying 53% level progressI say fourth or third because Cheezy's idea of a x amoutn to next level sounds good). There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.
