Hello fellow runescapers. I am here today to propose a change in the tip.it forums, some of you may like this some may not. My suggestion is to make the forum buttons look more runescapish. For example. New thread would have rope with the words ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ånew topicÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

If you go to your profile, and change the skin to Chronicles, I think it looks very runescapish then. \ =D>

So you want to turn it into something like the official forums? I don't think it's a good idea to make the forum look worse.

 

Although I remember some talk about a custom theme that was being worked on a while back.

Themes that are meant to look like something are almost invariably hard to use and ugly to boot.

I think it's an excellent idea. However, with Olympus (phpbb3) coming out soonish-maybe it's not really in one's best interest to make an entire theme for phpbb2 now.

Perhaps, then again - would tipit risk this forum on the first stable build of Olympus. I have faith in phpBB Group, however from the point of view of large forum owners, I wouldn't be suprised if they wait a few builds before making the switch.

I dont think it would be a good idea for tipit to jump straight into the new phpbb3 when it has come straight out of beta. I have been testing it and it has alot of ways you can get past the security.

 

 

 

Anyway back on topic. I dont want this forum to look like the official forums. I just sugested that the links are changed to look more like this is a runescape forum and not one of the forums that has just been put togeather in 3 mins.

Still, we wouldn't have to wait more than a few months for that, seeing that whatever was hackable would have been fixed by then... And with it just around the corner, we'd be able to use the custom theme for what? 3-4 months... Anyways, that's the reason why i didn't continue with my custom theme, dunno about Cam, he had one going as well i think?

Well, lazyness is the main reason, but phpbb3 is the excuse I like to use ;)

It is a part of the topic... We'd need to make a new theme for the software runing the site, and for the above reasons it wont be done just yet...

Matt did a paint-smash of a theme a while ago, but never picked it up after that as well.

 

I had one going for Arenascape but that relied heavily on Arenascape getting it's own forum (perhaps possible now with the structure of the barracks and such).

I have a spare theme in my files somewhere, mabe il donate it :3>
