Ok, today i was on my mage pure and I was thinking of the best way to go from a 1 defence pure mage to a tank mage. so I decide that it would be cool to do slayer! So i ull out a calc to see how close to 99 defence/85 slayer ill be if i decide to do slayer. here are the Calculations;

 

 

 

-You usually get 1 slay xp per hit point of your slayer task.

 

-99 defence is roughly 13m xp

 

-85 slayer is roughly 3.35m xp

 

since youll be wanting 13m xp for defence, divide 13m by 4, because you are getting 4 defence xp per 1 slayer xp. According to this, you'll get 99 defence and 85 slayer right near at the same time :shock: I just thought this was very weird, considering i have two seperate target levels that would be achieved at the same time...

A lot of confusing stuff, but 99 def and 85 slayer are gonna take you a long time, so goodluck.

not every slayer monster is gona need melee to kill it, look at bronze,iron,steel drags people use mage not melee.

Another weird thing is that if you max out 1 melee stat you get 4.3M hp xp, which is exactly one third of lvl 99. So maxing out all 3 melee stats gets you 99 hp, even with a range and mage level of 1.

 

 

 

But this 99 def - 85 slayer thing is going to be a tough one. You can melee a lot of slayer assignments, but not all. Also you will want to use a cannon from time to time, or guthans (controlled style). I think you would reach 85 slayer before reaching 99 defence.

just want to throw out guthans has a defensive style. and because im doing defensive xp giving quests that might even out the range-on-some-slay-monsters dealie. but meh what do i know \

that really isn't to suprising if you think about it, if you dont train magic and get 99atk,def,str,range you will get 99 hp at the same time

I find this very topic weird, because I also aim for getting 85 slayer and 99 defense (16 more slay and 21 more defs ftw) around the same time. It's going to take atleast a year for you to get a decent slayer level though. I started playing runescape a coupla months after the slayer skill came out and about a month after I started playing I because a member and started slaying and I'm only 69.
