September 6, 200619 yr What do you think would be fastest? Smithing 1600 iron ore into 800 iron bars or smithing 580 steel bars? I am using the al karid furnace.
September 6, 200619 yr Do you mean smelting? As in ores -> bars? (I'm guessing so since you said a furnace) Iron would be much faster, because you can only smelt 9 steel bars per load.
September 6, 200619 yr Just wondering are you f2p? If you are i would assume that you say 1.6k iron ore to 800 bars due to failure? But the iron would be quicker because of having 28 a load instead of 9. So three times as fast. September 6, 200619 yr Iron + ring of forging if you're p2p. If f2p then steel. Don't wanna lose those iron ores huh.
September 6, 200619 yr What do you think would be fastest? Smithing 1600 iron ore into 800 iron bars or smithing 580 steel bars? I am using the al karid furnace. Well, getting 800 iron bars out of 1600 ores will require about 58 trips to the furnace "smelting" 28 on each trip But doing 580 steel bars will require 65 trips smelting 9 on each trip. So, it looks like steel would be faster. Also, smelting 800 iron bars will earn you 10000 smithing exp and the 580 steel bars would earn you 10150 exp. Getting 1600 iron ore could cost you about 160k gp but the bars could be sold for, maybe, 200k for a 40k gp profit. The ores for 580 steel bars could cost you around 260k gp but the bars could be sold for about 320k gp for a 60k gp profit. So it looks like steel would be faster, give a bit more exp, and earn you more profit. Hope this helps
