d3vilbro Posted September 12, 2006 Share Posted September 12, 2006 Well after watching "Lure_Me's" pking videos I have been motivated to ge 99 Range, simply for the pure ownage which it causes. Currently I am only 46 Range with 45 Def, and yes, I am aware that I have a long way to go... At the moment I Range Hobgoblins on the peninsuyla, while wearing Green D-Hide Chaps and Vamb and a Rune Chain and Large. I also have around 30K Iron Arrows and 2.5K Bronze. I won't be getting 99 Range Purely F2P. but I hope to get 80-85... So really I am looking for any advice on training range, mainly which monsters to kill at which levels, and where the safespots are... When you get around 70+ Ranged, i would suggest you either switch to lessers, ice giants or moss giants. Personally, i am 40 defence, and 91 ranged, which i guess is quite similar to you. I safespot moss giants in crandor, with which i get around 25k+ xp per hour, depending on the amount of people there. Feel free to add me, I'll try my best to help you. Yea, but because I pick my arrows up I need the Def Bonus more than the Range Bonus... I really recommend staying where you are at the moment. If you do then all of your recoverable arrows are in the monster loot pile when it dies. It makes picking them all up really easy and safe because you take 1 step out of your safe area, get all of the arrows with 1 click, and then step back into the safe area again. I always liked ranging the 2 lessers on the top of Crandor island. There are safe spots to the north and east of their area. I would normally stay there for days and never bother to bring any food. I didn't need any because of the Curse pulling. You can actually range both at once (ping pong) so that they die almost at the same time. Then if you do have to run around their area, it's safe because they are both dead. I liked those 2 guys because I could almost always get them to myself. The Crandor Mossies are nice. There is a safe spot against the northern wall and just north of the west mossie spawn. Finally, your arrow supply could get you to about level 81 ranging. Most rangers shoot from the cow pen area across the water. The trouble with that method is that you lose your arrows and you can get about 4 times as many shots from your arrows if you pick them up. So, if you can, you should try and find a monster that you can hunt that allows you to pick up your arrows. City guards, monks, south Varrock wizards, jail guards, Al Kharid guards, etc could work for you. Hope this helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
