Ohh! You're Damion on GU! I remember I touched up your fossil signature. :o

For those curious here's what I did in my touch up:

Yeah the text sucks, shut up. -.-

I like your second style the best, althought you need to choose better colours and blend more. By better colours I mean get actual colours from the render. This helps to blend the render a bit more and looks better (in my opinion).

I often use the eye dropper tool and get a light colour with a dark colour, then apply a cloud filter with them and set it to overlay. (For a basic colouring)

hey cadbury how do you do that cloud color thing...? i can't add color to the clouds.... :?

also update

C/C pl0x!

Get a light colour and a dark colour from the render, apply some clouds and set to overlay. Make the clouds layer under the render though. Then, just blur and smudge it a bit.

i like the last two theyre both cool. =)

one thing tho, on that peniltimate one, i personaly dont feel that that splodge of colour in the bottom left corner fits there.

lower the stat of the render i say.

that final one, can you link the render please? looks good, probably me seing things, but can i see, meh, i see lots of things, just the brushes used i expect. it look good tho, cos its not just about the render, its toone side with your work in the middle, theres alot to be said about that. newest one, and your moving the renders aside to display your work, blod and confident, probably sub-contious, but meh.

Urg, you're not blending the render enough and relying on a flat hue/saturation layer again. :|

Here, I did a quick example of what i'dve done. Taken one of your backgrounds aswell.

BeesafreeAdaptedcopy.png

I would host the PSD, but I don't know whether GIMP can read that format. If they can, give me the word and I'll PM or post it here.

Anyway,

  • - Used your background.

    - One "blast/flash" white brush and 1 smooth black brush. White brush on soft light 80%, black brush on soft light 50%.

    - One gradient. Radial set to overlay.

    - One brightness/contrast layer. +15 brightness, +45 contrast.

    - Two colour cloud layers. Blue clouds set to colour and yellow/blonde set to saturation 20%.

    - One white render layer (de-saturate + 100 brightness to overlay).

    - One 2x render blurred + 30% opacity.

    - Three render layers. One blurred set to screen 100%, One to normal 50% with 5px feather and One set to hard light 60% and 5+1px feather.

    - 1px border with 1px white stroke set to soft light with 50% outer glow white set to overlay.

    - Two text layers, Cad and Metroid.

Hope some of this made sense. :anxious:

Very risque render ^^;

umm...i am stupid :-$ ...what?

Mm, nevermind. A PSD is a format (like PNG, GIF or JPG) but stores all information for the different layers. So rather than flattening it, you can freely edit any layer after saving and closing it.

I was wondering if GIMP could read it, but I doubt it now... I've never used it.
