The item box in the middle of the screen may block out would-be attckers, and futhermore, the chatbox being down may cause you to miss an important message.

I just come up with a simple solution for 2. and 3. Just swap the spec bar with the run options etc. Then non-members have the Spec bar removed and replaced with that other stuff....

I am just now getting used to the new interface, and I like it the way it is. Throwing in a new one would put me off once more and confuse the heck out of me. :-s

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Besides, I don't like the whole bringing up the inventory and other such menus in a window. That would drive me bonkers. That was one thing I couldn't stand in Ultima. And I like having my chat screen right there where I can catch that awesome offer at the last moment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the positive side, I love the picture. You did very well on that.
