October 8, 200619 yr Thank God you put 'baseball' in the title. Otherwise I would've thought you were talking Italian. Me doing staff.
October 8, 200619 yr Wow, im shocked. I would never have thought that it would come to this. But harryp0tt is right, it's not all his fault, though with a lineup like that, how is it not possible to win some games? Any lineup that has Jeter, A-Rod, and Giambi hitting in it should be winning games. Not to forget Cano who had a good year, Matsui and Sheffield, even though they were injured are still above average hitters, and Johnny Damon to top it off. Now with that lineup you should at least make it to the ALCS even if your pitching isn't that great, you should still be able to score enough runs to balance it out. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
October 9, 200619 yr Z0MG! (That's the 5th time I've typed that today, lol) Torre wasn't too bad, it was the players. First of all, A-Rod. Pathetic this year... And then, the pitching. Mussina, Wang and Johnson were all pretty good, but the relievers, not counting Rivera sucked. Like the Red Sox. To me? This is awesome. I'm a Red Sox fan. One of the best managers in baseball is leaving my most hated team. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
October 9, 200619 yr Wow.. I didn't think that Old George would ever come to this. Its a miracle that the Yankees made the playoffs at all. Torre did get lucky with Wang, because other than him and Rivera, the staff blows. The lineup was totally injury ridden this whole year, and A-Rod is just dieing to all of the pressure. Now my METS are the only New Yorkers left! ~Foolgool The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
October 9, 200619 yr As a Yankee fan the only thing i can say is this: If Stein fires Torre, itll be the worst move hes ever made as a baseball owner. He thought signing A-Rod for multimillion dollars was bad. Having Torre leave that team would be the stupidest thing ever.

He didn't sign with the Yankees, he signed with the Rangers in 2000 then went to the Yankees before the 2004 season. Not trying to make you look stupid, but just had to put it out there. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting

Nope, they TRADED, but the Yankees also SIGNED him to a new contract. The Rangers don't have enough money to pay off A-Rod's current salary. The Yanks might as well call it quits, and trade Wang to the Red Sox  . I was kidding about the last part...Or was I? October 9, 200619 yr I know they traded him. It sent Soriano to the Rangers, are you sure about the new contract part? I don't think the Yankees signed him to a new contract, just that the Rangers also agreed to pick up some of his salary as part of the deal, so the Yankees aren't paying him $25m a year. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
October 9, 200619 yr Meh, does it really matter? It was a bad trade...Soriano is pretty good...And his contract was much cheaper than A-Rod's. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
October 9, 200619 yr 1.2 billion in payroll in the past 5 years. 3 out of the 5 years they didn't make it past the first round. You can't say he's a bad manager, in fact he's a tremendous manager but I think with that kind of payroll the owner has a right to be dissapointed with those kind of results. This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.
October 9, 200619 yr Author soriano WAS my favorite yankees player... and it's not official that he is being fired, george steinbrenner still hasn't decided. watch your news tonight if you live any where near newyork, new jersey or that area
October 11, 200619 yr Torre is back, at least for another year. Bye bye division championship  3rd again next year? My prediction. No pen, no starters, no pitching. Bye Bye Red Sox, see ya in a while.
October 11, 200619 yr Joe Torre is in for at least another year, but now we have to give our condolences to the family of the Cory Lidle Getting another sig[removed]
