All these people getting "hacked"

I personally do not think "hacked" is the correct term to use, as it is next to impossible to hack a game based solely on java-script. I was keylogged on July 1. Although, I suppose it was my fault not virus scanning the computer after my brother had been on it. I lost 29.7M, but there is nothing you can do about it, and I learn from my mistakes. I feel that most people fall victim to keylogging, rather than any other version of being "hacked". Sorry for everyones losses. Its life. It happens.

Funny, I played over 2 years without getting hacked then within a week of getting SS I was keylogged?

 

 

 

All of my friends that don't use SS have never been hacked, but all of my friends that do use SS have been hacked.

I'm almost afraid to asked this for fear of being called "t3h omg n000b ch33b", but...whats SS? I'll probably regocnize it once it's answered but I can't think of what it means right now.

 

 

 

--illegal third party client--, a 3rd party client that runs the Runescape window and also lets you switch worlds easier. It also gives you tools like calculators and stuff so you don't have to go on to tip.it. It has a chat system called IRC (internal runescape chat) where you can get a nickname and enter a chat channel.

It's no more illegal than using firefox instead of ie, it's just another browser running the official java runescape game, with extra runescape-specific features built into the browser. The warning is correct though, unless you are certain you have the official program - it will probably have a password-stealing trojan included.

 

 

 

Someone losing their account is often due to watching videos, having their tip.it password stolen when the site was hacked etc. i.e. not their fault.

 

 

 

Also whats the point of posting that you haven't been hacked yet? I haven't been robbed irl yet, does that mean its impossible, or people that have are idiots?

For random combination hacks. Most would use a name or standard dictionary as that could break many pw. Using all possible combinations even trying many a second could take well over a thousand years for an 8-10 digit pw. I stoped changing mine somuch once I memerised a 16-20 charecter string of random numbers and letters.

 

 

 

Use something that is significant only to you, then you rember and ats hard to guess. It has worked for me for years.

I had a GOOD alpha numeric password

 

8 characters long

 

 

 

(here is a example of how it was for each A there is, that represends a random letter)

 

AAA##AAA

 

 

 

and i was hacked in january

 

 

 

i never found out how they did it.. but if there was a fault in jagexs servers that allowed a person to basically "attack" there servers and randomly guess passwords.. then.. who's fault is it.. should the account not be fixed since it was not the users fault or there problem?
