October 14, 200619 yr Another reason people use it is at the barrows minigame as it uses death and mind runes which are often a reward from the barrows chest so it saves on buying runes
October 14, 200619 yr It is rarely used in slayer but requires level 55 slayer to use. It is primarily used in barrows for its low cost, good accuracy and high hits (depending on mage level). This spell only require like 350gp per cast compared to the 600+gp per cast for other spells this good.

Well, I suppose it is good enough a reason... adn the only place where it is used is barrows that is also an very important factor :lol:
October 14, 200619 yr Another reason that it is good, is that it ignores minus magic attack bonuses, so even if your wearing full rune with the slayer staff, you can still cast slayer dart effectivly. Although I'm not 100% about that. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
October 14, 200619 yr It's a very impressive spell. One of the more efficient spells. I consistantly hit 14s-18s with it, at the lower cost of runes. The only superior same-cost spell is iban blast which has to be recharged ALOT. And cannot be autocast Slayer Dart/Magic Dart is a great powerful spells :-) Better then fire blast. Not at expensive as ancients or waves.

Although I'm not 100% about that. Although alot of people believe this, it's NOT true. Slayer dart hits well even with -20 mage attack because the barrows brothers are so weak to magic, try out for example fire blast with full rune on, works fine too. On any other monster it would be as bad as any other spell wearing rune or so. The main reason why it is used is because of it's cost effectiveness, a steady good hit maxing at 19 is pretty nice, certainly when you can get most of the runes back (Barrows). Only other place I can think of where it is used is at Dag Kings, to mage Rex. 99 cooking / 99 magic / 99 ranged / 99 hitpoints / 99 herblore / 99 defence Quoted for truth, wisest thing I've heard anyone say on Runescape.

Although I'm not 100% about that. That's a myth as far as I know. I think the only reason it hits alot when tanking is because people only tank vs things with horrible mage defence anyway. (ie. The barrows dudes, metal dragons, and dagganoth rex.) Maybe it does ignore the penalties, but I highly doubt it. I just use full veracs. :P - Pfft, my goals are FAR too "fluid" (ie. I have ADD) to be recorded in my sig.
