Unfair that it is only possible to do 1 spec when ranging?

To everyone saying that the combat triangle is equal, I'd like for you to do me a little favor; Head on over to the Graveyard forum, browse through the threads there and kindly notice the lack of range PK's.

If range is so good, then where are all the range PK's? And, furthermore, if the combat triangle is equal then why are the majority of PK's done by melee'ers?

It doesn't take a genius to deduct the answers to the last two questions :wall:

Do me a favour? if your 55-75 Combat go to a PKing world and notice how many Rangers there are. Now, try to kill one with your DD specs.

At level 71, a pure ranger can hit CONSTANT 21s. Ranger's are overpowered. Constant 21s on full Rune? Rediculous. While Melee Specs require Attack and Strength to hit high. 71 Combat for a Pure Melee, maybe 25-26 with A DD spec. But the chance of us hitting double 15s, 30 Damage from a Spec is extremely rare. I was on my 75, who is 35 Defence, fighting a level 70 Ranger. He hit non-stop 18-21, and fast, then he speced 18-21 and nearly killed me. So aren't Meleers supposed to own rangers? Yes, well everyone is getting owned by Rangers now.

WOW You are completely crazy!!!! I have 73 range, (low I know) and I can only hit 15's with rune arrows, 16 I think with prayer... And yes, rangers are over powered if you have 99 range, with cape bonus, range pot and prayer hitting mage armor....

Actually many disagree but, Mages are overpowered the most.. Think about it, you have 2 mages, who is barraging you while the other one teleblocks you, entangles, and lowers your attack, defence and strength... Then casts claws of Guthix which lowers you defence even more.. You'd be dead in about a min... No one can eat manta rays\sharks that fast....

Are you kidding? Considering most people between 55 and 75 combat have the defense of air, it wouldn't be hard to kill one of them using a DD special.

Anyway, I'm 108 combat and have had 99 range since September 2004. I quit trying to range PK after Jagex killed the MSB special because there's little reason to PK if you can't kill anyone.

I love how people say that it is over powered because NINETY NINE range hits hard on 80 80 80. As far as i know, not too many pkers have 99 range, and its much harder to get than 80 80 80...Range is indeed slightly under powered, not by much but under powered none the less =;

To even things, lets say someone with 99 range and 70 def was vs a rune pure with 70 att and 99 str...The ranger wouldnt even stand much of a chance :uhh:

The range special WAS 35%, no more no less so please stop pretending you know everything, you don't.

Range has got a slight boost with the long overdue range prayers, but the special on the mage shorts needs decreasing to 40%, that will give you two specials then have to wait for 2 bars before being able to do a 3rd, then 4 for the next. This would give rangers ~3 almost 4 specials per average fight in the wilderness. (Using 1.5 bars, which I find is about average)

With a Dragon dagger you can do 6 specials in the same ammount of time, can hit higher and it's much easier to poison with dagger. Jagex really needs to increase the amount of arrows you poison at a time to 30 or something

at 99 range i should be able to roast most any mage beside a level 115+ tank mage, this is not the case. although i hardly ever die, i am not raking in kills :P

the team thing in single needs to be changed so i can keep attacking even if they stop and the freind jumps in. that would boost kills. as most would be dead by the time their buddy made me eat. evening out the triangle.

...but then most ways of making cash pale to compare to a 2 hour trip to dag kings where you average 2-3m a trip. so i guess the fact that i am a range/melee/(adding prayer) tank is ok for me.

yeah it is unfair, before they had 2 range specs and it used to own...i think we shouldn't have 2 range specs, may sound bogus to a lot of you, but i've ranged for a while and pked, and i thinkeither people would run, or simply ULTRA safe-eat. even as a rnager now i have people safe eating like crazy, i couldn't imagine how it would be with 2 range specs. <.<

94 mage 94 range 87 hits 80 defense, all 94 combat, all skill =)

yeah i agree with you, but i find the dragon dagger specials brutally inaccurate, even though the special includes more accuracy. Likewise, i think the range specials are pretty accurate, compared to those of dragon daggers (basically because of the 140+ range bonus).

It seems okay to me, but that's because I'm not a big range fan. It would be better if we could do two specs instead of 1. True that the meleers get 4 with dds and they really hit accurately and high with pots and pray. But nothing is perfect, pros and cons to everything, range can hit and not get hit while melee is face to face.
