we all remember how bad things got when con was released now with hunting the market will get even lower.With new weapons and armour for all classes and the rich dumping thier items to max it fast the already unstable market that is currently trying to get back on its feet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jagex has stated that it never intended for rares and dragon to be so expensive and have decided to make the game "more fun"for ppl by making the inflated prices drop.Be prepared to see all items drop fast in the next year and for all of us with 85 slayer get ready to see empty abbys and ppl with 85 hunting so we can try and make a profit once more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway this is the future of the market as i see it prices crashing and the market getting worse by whips and other items dropping and rares will always stabilize but whips and dragon barrow armour and such will take a hard hit with this new skill. Discuss please

It all partially depends on the stats of this new armour. Personally I think it will be weaker than dragon and barrows, but we gotta wait and see. :-k

im thinking same as rune but with fur or reinforced materials to make it stronger against melle.or adding hides and fur to make it more resistant to mage ect

I was thinking more of improved magic and range armour, mellee is very well off at the moment. I mean, with a combination of torag + crystal etc,

 

 

 

you can get +400 something range....incredibly overpowered.

 

 

 

I think we need new weapons too, the whip easily beats our MSBs and staffs.

I didnt really like the overexcitement when construction was released. It's just gonna be a repeat.

 

 

 

and, well, its annoying when forums are filled with 'hunting this' and 'hunting that'.

The only reason why the market crashed when construction was released was because Construction CAN be power trained.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If construction is like mining or woodcutting , the market WOULD NOT have crashed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Therefore , whether the market will crash or not will be determined by how the skill is trained.

Thats so obvious, even without the new skill being released the barrows armor and dragon items are being brought into the game faster then people with 70 att\def and millions of gps are ready to buy them...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Only reason rares go up\down is the fact that people relise there is only one way for them to go.... Higher! Rares will never drop price back to when they were just 1 mill and such... it just wont happen...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Supply and demand... more demand for rares and almost a non-existant supply...

well i would agree with you on the thoughts of rares except for jagex like to control the boards so just watch noobs will complain and jagex will do something to bring rares down to thier liking .Its been done before with drag being to high,their answer barrows. To much money in rs,their answer con. Its only a matter if time :-$

Second as sameone said the only way rares are going too drop in price is if there is going to be another dupe (which i think is not too far away :lol:) on the 27th of Nov hunting will come out and prices will drop sell what you can before that date

How are the prices going to drop? you think now everytime a new skill is released that everything will crash in price. The only reason that happened when con came out is because it cost 400M+ just to get to 99, I doubt it will take 400M to get hunting to 99, far far far kess than that. So I doubt there will be a crash.

Its just that the value of gold pieces was rising, so you didn't have to put as much valuable gold for an items as you did before because gold is worth more now. People weren't selling all of their items to raise con, name me any single person that sold a ton of stuff just to raise such a money draining skill, not even cursed you or zezima sold more than 3 or 4 things i presume.

Except, the market never crashed. A few people around here consistently think that hte market is crashing, it's not. Especially the 85 slayer people who depend their money on abby whips. Or barrowers who depend their money on barrow armor. It's not because the market is crashing.

 

 

 

The reason why prices have been going down or as you seem to think "crash" is well, first depending on the item in question. If it's a rare like a p-hat then it's because inflation went down (less money in the game, causing prices to drop, which is actually GOOD by the way) and people didn't have the money. This was due to construction, which was created to be that money drain to be a short term inflation decreaser, it served its purpose.

 

 

 

As for other items, such as abby whips, and barrows armor and whatnot. The prices went down not only due to the inflation drop from construciton, but also because of supply. The more whips that come into the game, the cheaper they are because they become less rare. This also goes for that sought after barrow armor as well.

 

 

 

In other words, stop complaining about the supposed "market crashing" because it's not crashing, it's just how it goes. And if you even try to block this with real life, we can go with a grocery store, slowly prices are always going up or down, it's supply and demand. If demand is high, but they have low supply, prices go up. If demand is low, and supply is high, prices go down.

 

 

 

My final thought on this is... In your own greed for money, you blame the falling prices of an item you used to use to get rich, and others as well, on a "failing" market, but it's your own greed that's gotten the best of you. You just want to be rich but can't get as rich as fast anymore, so you complain about it. I say, shut up, you don't deserve to play if you're going to complain about it. And as for whips. I bought one at 2.5m, now it's 1.9m . Sad, isn't it? And at first, whips were very, very expensive because they were a rarity. But as more people get them, the less expensive they become. So suck it up, and deal with it.
