pompey_spud
i use hotmail for all my emails, but whenever i log on from my computer, i get an 'error on page' message in the bottom left of the screen. if i double click it, it gives a load of numbers, but i don't know what they mean. Because of this, my computer refuses to load up any emails, and so i can't read them. Any help avaliable?

Vape
AOL Explorer/Browser is based on Internet Explorer. Try Mozilla Firefox or Opera. My other suggestion would be a hijackthis log since it's clear something is up with your PC. Also, what's the "load of numbers" which you don't understand? Where the bloody hell are you? Kinslayer777
Have you considered gmail? It has much more freedom then Hotmail. Space, functionality, coolness (: @gmail, or @hotmail, who the hell even thought of 'hot'mail. That's so lame :P) Yes, it's a pain to transfer email adresses (actually, it's not. Gmail has a guide to trasfer all your contacts. The only difficulty is actually going for it, and telling friends you changed email adresses.) It took me two years to switch, but when i finally did, i felt so stupid i hadnt sooner  If you need an invite, i can invite you. If you dont want me knowing your email, I'll make a quick account, give you the pass, and you can invite yourself \ Disclaimer: I'm not saying it'll solve your problem, i have no idea what your problem is, :/, but why not go for it while you're in teh business of email? Darren
I would recommend Google mail as well. Besides it giving you much more storage capacity, it also lets you add filters so you can read e-mails sent to your OTHER addresses in Gmail. Cruiser
This looks like the same issue I had with JavaScript about a year ago when I first built my tower. Somehow the JavaScript IE used became corrupted/changed/removed and left me with no functioning JavaScript and unable to get onto windows update. I wound up mailing an MS tech a couple times to finally get the SP2 download which fixed the problem. If you don't have all the latest updates from Windows Update, I suggest you get them, it may fix your problem. If not you may want to find the tech support section on Microsoft's website and send this in to see what they have to say.
pompey_spud
well two things, a.) i would really really rather stick with this account. b.) do i really have to go through the hassle of emailing tech support people and downloading stuff? cant there be a simple button to press or anything? :(
Kinslayer777
I'm not sure what your problem is, cruiser seems to know, but as for changing emails. It's really easy. I thought it was a hassle, but for my 40 contacts it was easy. I only occasionally check up all i get is spam to my hotmail :P (course none of it goes through to my gmail account :, ok, very little, about 2 monthly compared to 450 monthly)

Cruiser
b.) do i really have to go through the hassle of emailing tech support people and downloading stuff? cant there be a simple button to press or anything? :( If everything had a point and click fix there wouldn't be a need for tech support. Some things are too intensive for a point and click fix too. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and ask someone. :P how exactly can one go about getting a G mail acc in the first place? i mean - how did the thing start off if you have to get invited?? Google started out by giving their employees 5 invites each to send to anyone they wanted (usually family). Once that seed was planted it slowly spread and grew into what it is today. The load was light in the beginning for testing and such and then usage just exploded. People now have 100 invites each so it's extremely easy to get in. Google will also send invites out over SMS if you request one now.

Kinslayer777
As for subscriptions, i assume you mean some mass email you get. Generally they have links for unsubscribe, subscribing, and changing emails. You might just have to go to the site and sign up again. It's not much of a deal. You can even copy paste your email address ^_^ I don't know specifically for your particular subscriptions but it's usually very easy. If you mean 'msn business' or such, err, i can't help you in that department if you subscribe to them :D. But they are simply advertisements so i bet they'll let you even on non hotmail accounts. Again, look at the bottom of the email usually. Occasionally at the very top. If anyone needs an invite msg me. Alternatively, unless it gets too much work :D I'll even offer to make a random junk account in which i give you a free pass and account and you go invite yourself :P. So i don't find your email. Please I'd prefer just your email lol no work for me is better...
