December 2, 200619 yr One day I wondered. I wondered, how common are prostheses and other replacements, and how my life would be if I had one. The whole idea hit me when I got my gold tooth assembled week ago, and I thought "hey, this is a prosthesis!". Then, my friend told me that his granpa lost his leg in a war when he stepped on a mine. It made me think. So... Does anyone have any replacements, and if you have, how do you feel about it? Is it hard to live with it? How good they are today? Already some organs like bladders have been grown in labs and transplanted into humans successfully. Once stem cell research inevitably breaks past the the progress-road-block of republicans, we can achieve even more.
December 2, 200619 yr I have a vaneer over my right front tooth, and a cap/vaneer over the left one, which broke in half. The right one had hair-line fractures in it, so they covered it up to protect it. Only thing I can't do is bite into apples with my front teeth, basically. Lol. Republicans have never expressed with a problem with adult stem-cell research by the way - and adult stem cell research is the only type that has ever produced any results. Embryonic stem-cell research has yet to give any actual results like people claim it will - yet adult stem-cell research has. By the way, I don't agree with the Republicans about embryonic stem-cell research.
