So, for example, you want to add the numbers in A1 and A2, and you want the answer to be displayed in A5. So, you would go to the cell A5 and type this: =SUM(A1,A2) That would add those two cells and display it in A5. If you want to add a bunch of columns that are in a row, such as A1 through A5, you would use a colon ":" between the numbers. If your cells are scattered throughout, such as A1, B5, and C3, you would use commas "," to seperate them.
