January 6, 200719 yr Serephurus, you definitely don't need that many colours to pull off a pixel. :P You used about 112 colours in the big version, and 58 or so colours on the small one, and that is far more than enough for a full signature like the one in my sig (the one with the salamander), which used about 118 colours. It's possible to reduce that image to, oh, say, 16 colours and not have it lose too much quality. The five digit difference (in your smaller one) between lines is irrellevant most of the time, as you can easily simulate that colour by dithering (a technique which is well explained in tutorials in the sticky above). In the bigger one, there are even one-digit differences, which is a complete waste of time, to be honest, as the eye blends such similar colours together anyway to create a smooth image (although I won't pretend to know much about eyes). Don't be afraid to do drastic colour changes, especially in a small canvas such as yours (meaning the small version). (chances are, I'm totally wrong about something, so if I am, correct me and you get a cookie. ><) Pixel Artist - Former Player Mod - Former Tip.It ModNot taking sig requests - sorry!
January 6, 200719 yr Author To be honest I enlarged the second one with an image viewer, then made a screenshot and editted in paint. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
January 6, 200719 yr That looks like a gradient from Photoshop, so compliments if that was done in Paint.
January 6, 200719 yr Like Faelenof said try to avoid using so many colours in a sig. However that is a great first attempt at shading, you should perhaps try shading objects just get some practise on 3d shading. Keep up the good work. -Bloodangel "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
January 6, 200719 yr Author Thanks. Next time I'll try to use less colors when doing it. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
January 6, 200719 yr Author In Paint I used the line tool and just started at the top, chose a shade of blue with a lot of white in it, then used custom colors to gradually make it darker, then I made it really dark in the center. Then I just did the reverse of what I did at the top. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
January 6, 200719 yr I remember doing that :P Very simple to do I would give it a 5/10 because it doesn't appeal to me very much and also because it is pretty easy to do, as long as you have some patience :D
January 6, 200719 yr along with what oter people said if you were going for a rounded effect you should have made it darker on the sides and lighter in the middle it kind of looks like a v cut into some metal to me At the moment i can't really see the full form of the muffin.
January 7, 200719 yr wow... you just completely used like... way to many colors... jeesh! Basically - from what i can see you just went down the color scale and edited a very little bit useing the line tool each color... Or you coulda done it that way lol  in pixels you use as many colors as neccicary to achieve what type of picture you want... you aren't going to use that many color to shade one piece of pipe for example beacuse you won't have enough room on your piece to fit that many colors into a small space... It looks good for just doing what you were doing... changeing color...but you need to learn to cut down on the amount of colors you used to transition into sigs... New sigzor^^
