January 7, 200719 yr right... how to start... about 2 months ago a website appeared called http://www.vanishingpointgame.com.. this was a mysterious puzzling website which contained cyphers/codes ect, which people spent ages trying to crack.. 6 of the codes were cracked and much speculation was had ( http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?s ... 93&st=1875 mainly here) as to what it was all about.. well, now microsoft has unveiled the whole thing.. just check it out for yourself... this is amazing http://www.vanishingpointgame.com -------------------------original post------------------------------- Allright, what the hell, im stumped http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/c ... fault.mspx Down there, at the bottom. http://vanishingpointgame.com/ Does nothing, just a timer. What this is all about? :? there is a black box on the windows vista site which contains a code and a link to a website - if you go to that website there is a box to enter a code and a timer. (which runs out in about 1 and 1/2 days) the code on the vista site isnt right.. i need/want to crack it and wondered if anybody else had any ideas

Putting this into a basic html page reveals a word, That should help, put the keys such as "wh0isl0ki" into the box and it comes up with random stuff.

January 8, 200719 yr It could be anything from Microsoft just releasing another product to wild rumors that Bill Gates is starting a huge alternate-reality game with rewarding $1 billion to the brightest person as his objective (Well, Bill Gates *is* making some kind of announcement today in Las Vegas at the Bellagio hotel, but I doubt it's that) The decipher code was posted in another image which some people recieved via mail; it contains an USB thumb with a video file and an image. It was fairly simple to crack. It seems the game is just 'starting' today, and there will be probably some nice prizes for completing it, the game could take months to 'finish' and include real-life scavenger hunting. May be a huge thing or just an average viral marketing campaign. Folks at other forums also figured out the PIN number when calling the phone number when cracking one code, you just run it from right to left (35818) so it has 5 digits instead of 4.
