January 8, 200719 yr I made pics of the advertisments on the Runescape site about ingame updates: Index: Barbarian Assault Tarn's Lair Barbarian Assault: Release Date 4 January 2007 This one was shown a month before the release of barbarian assault... Tarn's Lair: Release Date: End of January ??? Looks Like the update of the haunted mine will bring in some new things, and not just graphical zombie and skeleton updates... The behind the scenes doesn't tell much about this... Maybe a new fire cape or something... A Solo minigame.. It looks to be about level 60 cause the guy is wearing full rune... and some traps, so maybe hunter and agility is involved??? who knows... This update will be coupled with our next batch of NPC improvements (and accompanying wallpapers); making all the skeletons and zombies considerably more flesh-crawlingly menacing. out of the behind the scenes and this is about the agility course : In our second quest this month, Larry the zoo-keeper will need your help. He, like the rest of the adventuring community, knows thereÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s something not quite right about those shifty, beak twitching, fish guzzling penguins. He, too, has seen them plotting behind closed doors - always watching, forever watching... But nobody will believe him. He's close to losing his job, but that really isn't what he's worried about, since there won't be a job if humanity falls beneath their evil flippers. No, stop laughing, this is serious stuff! You'll be adventuring north, beyond Miscellania and into the Lunar Sea, building secret bird hides and trying to find out the secrets behind the Cold War. A new Agility course and some of the funniest animations we have seen will await those who dare challenge the might of these feathered fiends. Ah thanks for that, I didn't read the behind the scenes that closely, and just assumed from those "traps" it would be an agility course. @Trade_With
January 8, 200719 yr Does the tarn's lair add remind anyone else of the Shelob (sp?) scene in LOTR 3? Especially the last few pictures with the large shadow coming up to him look a lot like Shelob sneaking up on Frodo in the caves. Anyways, I think Jagex found out that advertising in this cartoon-like style creates topics like this and that topics like this probably increase word of mouth memberships. I doubt this ad points towards a whole new minigame, my guess is that they are going to make ads like this every two weeks. Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)

January 8, 200719 yr Hope it involves thieving, and isn't as bad as Rogue's Den! (Deactivating traps has always been thieving. Avoiding them is agility.) EDIT: It seems like an agility/combat mini-game, which is solo-based with a boss. Can't wait. Jack of all trades, master of thieving. 259th to 99 thieving. All stats 75+
