Thinking about how we started helps a great deal in thinking about how we end. Those that do not believe in religion will tell you that beings were created from nothing. Some aethiest reading this will start running in circles and bring up the 'Theory of Evolution' -which states that we humans evolved from other creatures which proves our existance-, and in turn any person with a brain can conclude from that theory that x evolved from y and y evolved from s and s evolved from g...etc which will reach a dead end eventually to this one creature that everything evolved from, now the question is, how the hell did that creature exist? No matter what you use , physics , chemistry and even math you will never get to a discovery that something existed from nothing. Also , scientifically , an existance will never really become a non-existance. When a body decomposes it is not really good , a series of energy changes start happing transfering solid to liquid then to gas then that gas travels up and eventually turns to liquid and joins the circle of life of constant existance and that body is never really gone poof , it may change but its still there.

Therefore that user is saying we do not believe in things just ending because we do not like the thought. I would like to disagree with him because this can also be the other way around. The case can also be that a person hates the fact that he has to do certain things so he may succeed in the after life (religion) thus making him not believe in any existance of an afterlife.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One more thing. Aethiests do no believe in a human having a soul, because if they do then they would agree that we are not just a result from some sort of evolution and we can be more than just flesh and bones. A Soul is a non-materialistic thing which can not be proved by science and when an aethiest believes in a soul it means he believes in things that cannot be proved by science for example , religion.

 

 

 

The top scientests around the world have spent years and years of research and study of 'Cloning', the duplication of a creature. So far cloning has worked with animals but has not worked for humans, WHY?!!. Why hasnt it worked for humans , we are extremely close in the anatomy of animals we are both flesh and bones and a heart and a brain , why havent the cloning attempts only worked on animals but not on HUMANS?!. Now religion states that ANIMALS do not have an afterlife , obviously they dont , animals dont know what the hell is going on other than following there "feed , mate , reproduce" senses. Religion also states that animals do not have Souls. A small kid can connect the dots why cant you?

Let me give you an analogy. Where does steel come from? How can it exist if it didn't before? Its simple, you mine the necessary ingredients (iron ore and carbon [coal]) give the right conditions (around 1000 degrees celcius) and, hey presto, you have molten steel. Wrong. I can hear music and feel the chair beneath me & I am conscious of my existance. I can still think. When you die, you lose all thoughts and knowledge and consciousness. It's more like sleep but without the dreams.

 

 

 

I agree with what both of you said. You will feel nothing, hear nothing, and see nothing. You will lose all state of being and consciousness. That is one of my theory's.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally, I think when you die your life will play back to you. It will play back to you the happy/funny/(anything good) times. Then after that? Who knows, no one does.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maybe you go to a place where all the dead go. (A parallel universe maybe?), a dream world (kind of like the Matrix), or reincarnation. The first two seem hard to grasp, but who knows, none of us have died and lived to tell about it. Reincarnation, as crazy as it seems, seems very logical in my opinion. You either get reincarnated as another human being, or an animal. This has to do with your "Soul."
