January 10, 200719 yr Hey people! I'm sorry to say that I gave up on this goal because a very good mate came back to rs. He got hacked over a year ago and came back at the beginning this year. I went out of my way to help him get started and back onto his feet again. Thus I gave up on my goal. After a while of consideration I decided i'd have a crack at getting a different 99. Woodcutting won and i'm almost 99 now, after that will come 99 Firemaking. Oh, after the price crash the the GE induced I sold my blue mask and bought a dragon set =P so I did complete my goal, but not exactly in the way I first set out. Righty, I'm setting out to raise enough money from fletching to buy a dragon chainbody. This may be an easy way there, but it's certainly long and boring! Also, I might head for 99 Fletching, so this will help me on my way! ALL POSTS APPRECIATED, BUT RULES APPLY! So, how am I doing it? Well, to start off i was just buying 1k yews, then fletching and selling to buy more materials. That was getting annoying, so a mate suggested I sell my Dragon WC Axe to buy yews. So that's what i did, bought 10k yews with the money. Anyway, I have all possible subjects collecting flax for me in Miscellania and Etceteria so that'll be a bit less trouble for me. I WILL TRY TO GET SCREENIES OF IMPORTANT MOMENTS/LEVEL UPS, but I missed the 83 Fletch one because i was attacked by a random before I could capture the moment! :-s Gallery This is what i'm starting my goal with (after buying the 10k yews)... 10k Yews and 2k Yew Longs (u) 82 Fletching and 1500 Total! Something I should be proud of eh! =] Further Down the Line... W00t, finished those yews! Blog 10/1/2007 Today i'm still fletching those yews! 2.6k left to go, then flax picking time! -.- Got 83 Fletching today, and 48 Herblore from Tears of Guthix, bringing my Total to 1502. Will Screenie when i get next lvl or finish yews! Well, yesterday i gave 1k yews to a mate who was going to quit because he had no money to complete his 99 Fletching goal. That left me with 1k yews less to fletch and saved my friend from the doom of post rs boredom! LOL! Anyway, here are a couple of pics of what i have left to do. 11/1/2007 Heya, today i finished fletching the yews and got 84 Fletching! There's some pics in the Gallery. \ 11/1/2007 Righty, today i managed to get 3k flax, not as much as i could have got but i was a bit distracted. Not bad really though, shouldn;t be long till i've got them all. 13/1/2007 Got just over 8k flax in total today, this is proving to be very boring indeed. Maybe next time I'll just buy them and spin them, I'll still make a profit that way! Took about 3 hours out to do some Barbarian Assault, but the n00bs spoilt it as usual. 15/1/2007 Yippeeee!!! My mate that quit a year ago, because he got hacked, decided to start a new account yesterday! I've been helping him loads and its so good to have him back, so this project/goal might go on hold for a bit while i catch up with my mate. So thanks so much for you're support guys, i'll try to keep the post running. When i get back to solid fletching i'll notify you again!
January 10, 200719 yr Not to discourage you or anything, but fletching is not a money maker at all. If you buy the materials at the current prices (300 per yew, 180 per bowstring) it will only turn in 70gp profit per bow. At this rate you will need to make 200,000 bows which is gonna take a LONG time and basically a waste of time. I reccomend that once you achieve 99 fletching you turn your attention towards another money maker. There are many easy methods and my favorite is ranging. Go range fire giants with iron arrows and you will make money for sure.
January 10, 200719 yr Author OK, thanks for the comments, although i don't intend to buy the bs, I think i'll pick the flax myself and spin it. I mean, yes it's boring, but pretty quick if i use lleyta for the flax and the lummy spinning wheel. My subjects also help with the flax =]. If u done Watchtower quest go better range Greiters , u get rune large drops a lot and clues , if u do all clues u will have chain with 1 mounth , or range blue drags ;) skill to sky605+ total F 2 P Skiller
