The whole point of slayer was to learn how to kill things effectivly and get the levels to "kill those strange creatures that you may previously have thought immune to your attacks". With combat styles you have the chance to Stab, Slash and Crush monsters, as well as blast them with magic and make them a pincushion with reange.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My questions is : What have you found to be the best way of killing monsters with Melee? Stab, Slash or Crush?

well this is probably totally wrong but i always attack dragons with slash, because against players wearing dragonhides that works well. sometimes i just switch styles around on some monsters to see what works well.

you can look it up based on each individual monster that your slaying for the best and always accurate results...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For example i still remember that bloodvelds are weak to stab attacks and quite often i do just as much damage just as fast attacking with my dds as i usually do with my whip or d scimmy against them :wink:

i did an anallysis of abbys with my friend when i was over at his house, i had him kill 5 abbys wuith each style and found them:

-weak to slash, but weaker to stab

 

 

 

-medium def against crush, crush didnt seem to hit them very much

Like i said earlier add bloodvelds down to your list as being weak agaisnt stab attacks...(tip.it database says so :wink: , and my own dds ownage backs that statement up :thumbsup: )

Well you have to take into account what weapon you're using too. Almost all weapons (F2P) are strong in Slash. R2H, Rune Scimitar, Rune B Axe for instance - they all have higher slash values than the other two styles.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For monsters, maybe you could do long tests to figure out their weakness style.

On the first form of the Kalphite Queen I find Stab works better than Slash.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And with Veracs Flail I always hit more often with Pummel on the Kalphite Queen, that's a Crush Attack I believe. (2nd Form)

Infernal Mages are weak to stab.
