I am a newborn (week old) member and I am struggling to get my first clue scroll. I'm pretty sure I've killed the entire human population of Runescape and pickpocketed HAM members until I was almost dead.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My combat is 72 and my thieving is 27, what is the best way to get my first clue scroll? I would be happy even with a lvl 1 scroll. Does a ring of wealth have any effect on this?

I get them often from hellhounds. MIght want to try those.

try doing slayer tasks. they seem to increase the ammount of clues i get.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

for instance yesterday i got a task of 110 hell hounds. well i have 65 more hell hounds to kill and its taking soo long because about every 15 kills i get a clue. thats a total of 6 clues so far and im not even half way through with my task.

same happens to me...

The ring of wealth does NOT improve your chances of getting a clue scroll. When at H.A.M.'s wear full H.A.M., it decreases your chance of failing. When I thieve from H.A.M.'s, I get a clue scroll within 10 minutes. You are just having bad luck.

Does wearing partial HAM clothing decrease chances of failing?

I dont know abou the HAM clothing. However i do have a tip for you if u want to do lvl 2 (i recommend lvl 2 for your combat lvl). Go to varrock castle (the one with the king) and slaughter all the guards there. I always get one there. It can takes some minutes, half an hour or maybe even more then 1 hour (never happened to me though) But theoriticly its possible that you can kill guards for days without getting one. But within the hour is very plausible. Good luck ^_^

- I usualy only get clue scrolls between 10am and 8pm Uk time, dunno why.

a great place to find clue scrolls is in seers village go to the pub there and kill the humans, it is only lvl 1 scrolls but they also drop some good herbs aswell.

Yeah as some other said, Slayer tend to give alot of clue scrolls, you should look at the Clue Harvesting topic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, you seem to be rather unlucky, it never takes long to get level 1 clues, try killing Goblins near lumbridge or pickpocket more HAMs.

for your first go and kill men at edge or thugs in the edgville dungeon

if you want 3s id say depending on your range to range hellhounds plenty of clues. Gotten some good stuff from there so far.
