They are in a multi combat zone and throw rocks at you that can hit up to 7 (according to the Tip.It Beastiary). The best trolls for fighting would have to be the Mountain Trolls in the mountain pass that leads to Keldagrim. Bring your best melee armour and plenty of food. What armour should I bring?? thanks ~Andufus If you are looking to range trolls at all then there is quite a few safespots on Death Plateau, thats where I normally kill them. Lol if you wanna get it done fast you could always go out to the hill in 46 wild with the saphire with 100s of level 2 spiders. That or try the security stronghold. The nice thing about Slayer is that you still get experience even if you decide to Burthorpe the task after you have started it, so it's always worth it to give a try to a new monster assignment.
