February 20, 200719 yr i have never had a whip from a task :? maybe a higher drop rate for people doing a slayer task would tease people not to give up at 85 and carry on training the skill, it would make more sence to reward the ones who carry on doing the skill than the others who just train there
February 20, 200719 yr Just like Axe man jack implied, it is really worthless to spend your time killing Abyssals without getting Slayer xp. I use Lunar magics and I get Abyssal Demon tasks 70% of the time. So why not just do Slayer and be at Abyssals at the same time? As for myself, I don't really care about whip drops any longer. I had 16 slayer tasks, with 0 whip loots. I just go there for xp. Whip drop is like a bonus for me. But yeah, Slayer is by far the best skill in RuneScape in my opinion and the hard work to 92+ Slayer WILL be payed off by Jagex, I'm sure of that. Too true...i actually only had to switch maybe 20 tasks while using lunar magics...but other then that i lucked out and LITTERALLY went from lvl 85 to 86 slayer off of Abyssall Demon tasks alone \ CLICK - 770th to 99 SLAYER 2/4/08 - 204th to 99 Summoning 7/1/08 CLICK[Hide=List of Drops That I haven't updated in Years but want to keep in my Sig anyways...]VISAGE DROP - 12/06/073 Duo Sara Hilts, 3 Duo Arma Hilts, 2 Trio Arma Hilts.Dark Bows: (11) Dragon Boots: (50!)Whip Drops: (42!!!) February 20, 200719 yr Another reason that some people stop at 85 is becasue the Pie Noobs can kill dark beasts with the wild pie without any further training. I look forward to the day the level 95 req slayer beat comes out and all the Slayer Lovers finally get to see some of their hard work pay off for a bit of time :-D. I still want skills that have 100+ opts that you can only reach by potting from 99. 20k slayer xp = ~190 Gargoyles = ~190 Nechryaels= ~190 Kurask = ~220 Aberrants = ~ 180 fire giants = ........and on and on No matter what combat lvl u have these are long tasks Now, if i was a kid with the luxury of playing 5-6 hours a day then,ye, that wouldnt consider intensive but for some1 who can afford playing 1.5 hours max a day thats pretty much sums up my daily rs experience. I work 9 hours a day with an hour fifteen commute and even I can manage over 2 hours of RS. Get over yourself. And part of it is also training method. I use Duradel because I won't spring for cannonballs. However, a lot of lower tasks can be cannoned quickly. And it's going to take longer if you don't pot during the task. The hidden statement (well, not that hidden :D ) in what i wrote is that i find most of the other skills darn boring (wc,fleching, fishing, dam fishing :wall: ) I am not playing for the money or glory,i play for fun, i realy dont care how profitable it is. And yea,i am still addicted to this tiny second ,between the time u kill the monster till u see the drop :D What did that have to do with my point? Oo I was just saying that slaying is the only skill that you don't get exp by exploiting its benefits (unless, of course, you happen to get it as a task--and there a few players who just ditch all non-abby tasks so they can get slaying exp while whip-hunting). its the same for almost every skill after i got 99 att i got 100k exp and jumped 2k-3k ranks lol :\ atm im 19.4m att exp and am ranked like 1400 or something along there Back when I first got 14m defense exp, I was ranked 77. Now, 13m exp later, I'm slipping out of the top200. Everybody I talk to seems to think 92 will be the next high level monster. However, I don't think we'll ever have another slayer monster with a drop that parallels the whip in terms of initial value (back when a whip would regularly sell for over 10m). At any rate, I just slay so I can fight every monster in the game.
February 20, 200719 yr I know what you mean, slayer is my favorite skill in runescape. I need to stop being lazy and just get it to 99

February 20, 200719 yr I researched this too. Before the skill capes came and ruined the RS economy, everyone stopped at 85 Fletching. Once i reached 86 i realized, i jumped 2k in ranks. *looks at your skill cape picture* And let them camp out at demons, better rank for you  . YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
February 20, 200719 yr The magus, I was generalizing the fact that whatever Slayer level the new monster will be, those who went on after the level 85, WILL be rewarded. Meh, I could argue Slayer is one of the most profitable skills in Runescape. ~Retired 10/17/07~"One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures." - George W. Bush
February 20, 200719 yr Meh, I could argue Slayer is one of the most profitable skills in Runescape. I'd enjoy seeing you try. The rewards are monster drops and you can get more valuable drops from other non-slayer monsters.

Whips of course and if you stop and do the level 3 treasure trails you will make a very nice and steady profit from the 1 or 2 you get on average per day on assignment. Slayer xp a day really isn't a gauge of how good you are as some tasks are slow, and others fast if you can cannon/dharok them. Personally I melee just about all not caring about speedy xp. However I recently had my Clans 24 Hour Winter Slayer Competiton. I actually tried, getting all cannon tasks from Shilo and 2 abbies and got 166k xp playing around 14 hours and getting a full nights rest. The winner got 400k. So it can happen if you are dedicated enough. 15-25 k xp a day is good progress for a casual player. February 20, 200719 yr The magus is a troll trying to hijack this thread. Yeah, whenever I make a valid point people would rather call me a troll rather give it serious thought. Slayer is currently the best profit skill in the game. Whips of course and if you stop and do the level 3 treasure trails you will make a very nice and steady profit from the 1 or 2 you get on average per day on assignment. Right, so it's the best because it has drops; ie, heavily luck-based rewards. Whips are fairly rare for most people . And treasure trails? More luck . Slayer xp a day really isn't a gauge of how good you are as some tasks are slow, and others fast if you can cannon/dharok them. Personally I melee just about all not caring about speedy xp. Although tasks also involve luck, you can always reassign until you get one you can do more quickly. And yes, I'm also straight melee. 15-25 k xp a day is good progress for a casual player. "Maniac" isn't casual. He gave those numbers for a "maniac," I argued those were fairly casual. You're now agreeing with me and yet say you're disagreeing.
February 21, 200719 yr ye i think its rather funny :P from 80-85 you gain a small 3-4k places in the highscores now do this : type in the search by rank option first 8000 you will notice something around 3,26m exp yes thats lvl 85 now type in rank 5000 you will notice something around 3,52m exp and yes again thats lvl 85 thats 260k exp to gain 3k ranks and to get from 80-85 you only gain a little more then 3k ranks although the exp is several times bigger :P it's crazy :o now go a little further type in 4000 you'll notice lvl 86 with around 3,8m exp type 3000 lvl 87 with 4,3m exp type 2000 lvl 89 with 5,2m exp type 1000 lvl 92 with 6,6m exp so heres the conclusion: numerous people train slay to lvl 85 to get a whip and just leave it at that lvl for ever so there are 3k+ places in highscores with the lvl 85's now the people that do train beyond that lvl are fewer in number i mean 3k+ people for 1 lvl (85) and 4k people for the 14 lvls beyond thats crazy so see for urself :) RSN:neovenatorproud fire cape ownerproud fighter torso owner
