February 23, 200719 yr I don't want this to turn into a P2P v. F2P war. One of Jagex's major concepts is that each player should have an equal chance of success. In their rules, Jagex explicitly states: We feel your status in real-life shouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t affect your ability to be successful in the game. The benefits of memberships should be "More fun things for you to do for only $5 a month!", not "Go faster up the hiscores than everyone else for only $5 a month!" Unfortunately, it seems that membership is going towards the latter. For example, members and free users share the same hiscores. All of the top positions are members. Free version users can never go above a certain position on the overall hiscores. When fletching was released, members were given new logs. A member could level up several times faster than free users. (This was solved during the RS2 launch, when free users were given up to yew.) Prayer is so much faster on members. Free users only get big bones (12.5 exp), while members can use far better bones and faster methods. Members get rich easily. At least for me, it's "Got a ranarr here, 6k. Got a good clue, 200k. Mmm, thieving 100k or 200 gems an hour." The rarest drop on the free worlds are rune large helms, worth a measly 30k nowadays. I'm sure this is one main reason why there are so many beggars on the free version. The main reason that Jagex rarely updates the free version now is due to the costs of running the game. Perhaps Jagex could add minor updates to the free that balances these problems. (For example, making certain herbs obtainable but not usable on the free version. That way, free users can still make money by selling to members.) ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)
February 23, 200719 yr well, last thing about the herbs, with that f2p will gte a complete new skill.. why getting herbs without identify them, thats useless. As most part of druidic ritual is in p2p world its not possible to give f2p something like this. The highscore is good to me, i hated it when i still was f2p (and a pretty good one) that i was at rank 300000+ but for f2p i was almost in top 100.. ^click to visit my blog! And if u got some spare hammers for my collection, i will always take them just pm me :)5743th with cooking 99!--8 november 2006--16361st with str 99! --15 april 2007--35000th with Attack 99! --20 June 2008--29524th with Hitpoints 99! --3 August 2008--
February 23, 200719 yr Got a better idea for this: Why not split the high scores? One list for P2P, One list for F2P? ~Mr. D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)

Devnull It's a good idea, but there's one problem with it: what happens when a member becomes a non-member again, without ever training a member stat? Which list would said person fall into?

Which list would said person fall into? There's no problem with this at all! Heck, you just gave me an idea! A "List for the Ex-P2P'ers!" and a "List for the Ex-P2P'ers who have no P2P skill exp"... Problem solved. And any Ex-P2P'er who goes P2P again just moves back into the P2P list! :) (Okay, yes, that means 4 lists now, but at least it organizes everyone.) ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... February 24, 200719 yr its a good idea, the whole list thing, but I don't think JaGEx would want to do that. They would just say, if you don't like the way f2p works, become a member. ^ What is this? Click to find out! ^ http://roflcoptergames.goforumgo.com
February 25, 200719 yr They'll only do that if they wish to turn potential members away, especially ones who think that there should be no unfair high score list advantages. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... February 25, 200719 yr I just became F2P for one week, but I think you are right. Jagex should at least add some minor updates, such as a larger bank space, some new quests, and 1 or 2 new monsters. They should also make a separate highscore, one for F2P and P2P otherwise F2P will never get to the top.
February 25, 200719 yr i agree with the whole hiscore thing and the bank space and monsters, and most of all quests... i quit because of the lack of quests, also i couldnt become member pay-by-phone was only option and it didnt work on our phonse service thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig
