EARTH STRIKE IS BETTER THEN FIRE BLAST FOR TRAINING! How? 1 death rune costs 250gp-300gp. 1 mind rune costs 10-25gp. The max hit with fire blast is 16. Therefore the exp for this is 16 x 4=64. The max hit with earth strike is 7. Therefore the exp for this is 7 x 4-28. With the 300gp you use to buy 1 death rune you can buy 15 mind runes for 20gp each. So now it is still 7 x 4=28 but now you have to multiply that by 15 because you have 15 mind runes. 15 x 28=420. So in the end would you rather get 64 exp or 420 exp? You are forgetting the (second) most important commodity in runescape, time. Training with death is 4 times faster than with minds, meaning more dragons killed, and probably more profit. marnuke Posted February 25, 2007 Share Posted February 25, 2007 barrowing has got to be the best way to train magic with a profit...and the 6 monsters give good exp, and then you will get some chaos and bloods, which you can later use on other monsters for a pure profit (besides the element you decide to use, like if you had 10k chaos, used a airstaff, then you could just buy the 40k fires, which the barrows items will pay for, or use fire staff with 30k airs.) and then you will also get 2k~ bloods, which can be used for more training, pking, cws, or staking.(the deaths and minds will go to more slayer darts and more barrows) All in All i personally think barrows is the best way..... If you absolutely hate doing barrows, then it is possible to make money fighting iron dragons. Buy 3k chaos (450k) or save using a mage store to buy from. Then buy 9k airs (135k, maybe a little more, havn't bought airs in a while) . Buy some anti fire pots (not sure on price) and some food. Now wield Full mystic except wear fremnik mage helm, chaos gauntlets (if you have done the quest, which is defiantly worth it), anti fire shield, lava or fire staff, ring of wealth and glory. Now go down brimhaven dungeon and there is some stalagmites, you got to be kinda off to the side of them. Drink a dose and start fire bolting the iron dragons and hope for a dragon plate legs. Now i know people who have made a lot of money off of this, but i invested a million dollars (2 trips) and didn't see any dragon item.....so it is a risk, if you lucky you will get 1-2 dragon items a round, which would defiantly pay for it, but if you like me then you won't get anything. Also, this would take forever to get to a higher level...if it would normally take somebody 3 months of pure training to get to 99 mage, then using this it would take about 45 months, or almost 4 years.....
