runesmithie
So, I'm looking at building a new computer in the next 1-6 months and thought I'd post the specs on here for review... (Because I can't be arsed to copy and paste it all) So it's time for that new computer, I'm looking for $1500 max without shipping :) I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. Because when they do come out they will be a ridiculous amount of money for a while, which I can't afford to wait. I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. cyco
Quads are already out. http://www.Ibuypower.com
JoeDaStudd
All looks good. One question, do you plan on Overclocking? although an amazing processor... in a short while they will have quads... maybe wait for a quad? Quads are a bad idea without you really want a fast pc and don't give a damn about money. Nope, no overclocking for me and @cyco: Yeah, and they're ridiculously expensive :P I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. Markkei
You're crazy not to overclock a C2D :o And do you really need a floppy drive? If money is not a big issue, I recommend this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817139002
Mr_Putter
Yea, I would say definately get a better power supply. The other thing, likely minor; I'd suggest this RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145590 Its $204, however, there's a 40 dollar rebate so it's actually 5 bucks cheaper. And it will better quality.
Markkei
Quad cores will drop in price relatively quickly; a Q6600 will be around $500 come this April. And we may be looking at other Q series reaching around $300 by the end of the year if this keeps up. Even so, it's not worth waiting until they're widely affordable, so a C2D is the way to go. I agree with the RAM Mr Putter suggested.
JoeDaStudd
And do you really need a floppy drive? Its for his SATA HDD, as some/most MoBo's need a BIOs update before the recognise SATA drives. runesmithie
Just updated my list, wondering if Newegg dropped anything, so if some of you could look it over to see if anything's missing it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to keep this under 1500 without shipping. I'm also recycling an old monitor of mine, that's why there aren't any of those :P Same with mouse and keyboard. I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.
Mercifull
The price of the motherboard looks a bit overkill. And you should really get a better PSU. The graphics card reccomends 400-500w and then you got all the other stuff on your pc too. Go for at least 600w thats what ive got on my pc (using the same graphics card) and it works good.
