Is making and merching cannon balls a good way to make cash? If so what way should i go about doing it

Selling cannonballs is hard at times, because the market isn't that big anymore. You probably won't get the full 200gp each anymore, I believe the normal price is around 180.

I find cannonballs a great way to make back some of the cash i invested into MTK, and also some free smith exp.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But making them takes so long...

Merchanting them sucks, the only way to do it is to have around 18M+ and buy ALL cannon balls that people are selling, so your the only one there because the rest have left after you bought all there cannon balls. Once you see a high level buying cannon balls trade him quickly and offer him all the cannon balls and say the price is 200 each, if you do it right you can get it so he will have to buy at your price because no one else is selling them. Other then that I have no idea on how to sell them, maybe fourms. Try them out and see if alot of people are selling them, if they are don't merchant them becuase theres more sellers then buyers.

Buy steel bars 550-600 each, sell your cannonballs 180 each. Around 120 GP profit per bar.

not really, theres not a big market for them anymore and they take a long time to make.

I've made quite a bit of money smelting cannonballs. I've never had trouble selling them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can get steel for 600, and end up selling them for 740-800 ( 4 x 185-200 ).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At Port Phasmatys, I can smelt 500 bars /hour into cannonballs. 500 x 140-200 = 70K-100K/hour profit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have better ways to make money now, but I liked being able to "Smelt X" and go check on forums.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That way, I'd smith like 3-4K bars at a time, and had loads of time to check forums for buyers. Anytime there was someone buying for 190+, I'd sell whatever I'd smelted to that point. Or if some steel seller wandered in selling for 550 or so.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I did it recently, smelting 1K steel bars into balls, and sold for an average of 190 or so.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EDIT: it was much better money when I was getting steel for 530, and selling it for a profit of 270 each. Rising steel prices have definitely made this less attractive than it once was. Chinchompas have also decreased the demand. But it's still not bad money.
