March 7, 200719 yr Oh, well still...No thanks. They're the ones who follow the laws willingly. It isn't like there are mass-protests of laws in these countries. People are fine with them, because...Well, you know... Edit: Let's try not to deliberately provoke other religions shall we? ~Assassin The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
March 7, 200719 yr Growing up and living in a state where you have been indoctrinated since birth, surrounded by the culture promoting the laws it's hard to break away and think that it is wrong. If they protest or even say they disagree with a law they get killed, or beaten, or lashed. That makes them pigs? No, it makes them human beings. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
March 7, 200719 yr So, people can either die to get something done (change) or they can just keep killin' "the infidels". Trust me, the people in those countries probably don't have much of a problem with it. The follow the God, thus the religion, thus the book. The book says kill all the non-believers. While I'm sure most wouldn't actually kill someone...You sure don't see them saying it horrible, do ya'? It usually the women who have problems with it all anyways, because they're treated bad reguardless. Men are like, "So?! Allahu Akbar!" I really don't care, they can follow their dirty little laws and kill everyone. Makes no difference to me. It's just fun knowing that I'm smarter than those people. Afterall, I'm not the one following a book that's like 500 years old and based off the story of Jesus anyways. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
March 7, 200719 yr Satenza - i second what your sayin, they can't help where they are born and it's not as easy as Tigra is making out to break away from that. And also these people dont know any different from this and perhaps if they did they would realise how bad these laws are but until they do you cant hate them for following it (with the exeption of rapes etc.).

They're not trying to break away from it. No effort is being made. There are no secret anti-Islamic rebel groups or anything. March 7, 200719 yr They're not trying to break away from it. No effort is being made. There are no secret anti-Islamic rebel groups or anything.Yeh but thats what i mean by they dont know any different and it's all well looking in from the outside but we don't know what its actually like living in countries with the saria laws. Also its a possibility they are scared of speaking out against it like nobody in Germany dared speak out against Hitler in WW2 for fear of death and it may be the same in such countries.
March 7, 200719 yr How would you know there isn't any 'secret' resistance groups because afterall they are secret. You are again making bold claims about entire nations. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. March 7, 200719 yr How would you know there isn't any 'secret' resistance groups because afterall they are secret. You are again making bold claims about entire nations. You should obviously know what I mean. Everyone knows about the Taliban, but they're one of those "secretive" groups that you're not supposed to know who are members of it, etc. If a group wanted to, they could spread anti-islamic law propoganda all over, but alas, noone is trying. March 7, 200719 yr They don't have free press, how can they publically oppose it? Do you happen to know it has never been opposed or are you just making statments that you don't actually know the truth behind. It's quite a big claim to say theres no resistance to Sharia Law. In the western world we are familliar with equal rights for women but when your religion and culture that surround every aspect of your life tell you that they are not it's hard to beleive otherwise. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. March 7, 200719 yr Author In the western world we are familliar with equal rights for women but when your religion and culture that surround every aspect of your life tell you that they are not it's hard to beleive otherwise. Are you saying we don't think men and women have equal rights? ---------------------------- And to people using this argument, stop it with the "it's not all Muslims, just some extremists" logic. We've seen what Muslims can do when they want to stand up for something. Do you remember? No? The Danish comic strip catastrophe. Thousands if not millions took arms around the world (especially in the West) against this. They were able to show the world they can stand up for something. Remember this. Now, Sept. 11 is the beginning of the downhill point for Islam. The media loved the bits about 'Muslims are terrorists' news and ran with it because people started listening. But have you seen a protest even close to the degree that the Muslims showed against those Muhammad strips? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't. We know Muslims can unite, but obviously, what the 'extremists' do for their religion is much less significant than some comic strips degrading their religion. Do Muslims really want us to believe only a small portion of their religion are extremists? If so, they're not trying - at all. If you know people who hate Islam, it's likely to be justified. And to the people saying 'religion' in general, tell me when was the last time Christianity had a problem to this degree. The Crusades? Sure, then you're comparing Islam to what Christianity was almost a millennium ago. And then we can agree that Islam doesn't belong in these modern times and should either step it up or stop existing. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
March 7, 200719 yr Obviously there are inequalities in sharia law. March 8, 200719 yr ShadowFax - it want thousands at all it was mabie just hundreds which is still unacceptable however you can't just generallise all muslim to be terrorists. Doing that will just isolate them more and make them want to be terrorists. You obviously have a personal vendetta or something against muslims even though the majority, at least in the UK are sound people.
March 8, 200719 yr Author you can't just generallise all muslim to be terrorists. You're right, that's why I never even claimed that all of them are terrorists. Try reading next time. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

March 8, 200719 yr Your question was do you think Men and Women have equal right. What you think has nothing to do with Sharia law unless you are in favour of Sharia law. Then yes your laws promote inequality between men and women. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. March 8, 200719 yr dont worry about sharia law ppl america will take care of that [cabbage] we already took over iraq not we're probably going to iran and then others so stop the whining america means business America!, yeah! Lol, America is going to take care of it all? So, since you people had some fun bashing what you say. Sharia Law was put in place because of the Qu'ran. It should be followed, and it's beleifs are correct. You want people to escape with adultery? You want people to marry someone their own sex? You want people to have sexual intercourse before marriage? Then, go the hell ahead. Just keep it away from Islam, and your bashing. I'm freaking tired of this! You want to modernize the whole world with your dam western beleifs, then go die. There are places that must be perserved. There are cultures and laws that must stay the same. It is their beleif. It may seem wrong to you, but then again, not everyone can be the same. I see these things such as terror or killing as not connected to Islam. Yet I see people connecting them everyday. Do not forgot, America and other countried have had un Islamic terrorists. *Sigh* I'm done.

March 8, 200719 yr Author *Sigh* I'm done. We're just getting started  Sharia Law was put in place because of the Qu'ran. It should be followed, and it's beleifs are correct. You want people to escape with adultery? You want people to marry someone their own sex? You want people to have sexual intercourse before marriage? You're against adultery - I'm fine with that. But stoning to death? You're against homosexuality - Why can't gay people be together? They're still people You're against sex before marriage - might seem unethical, but it should depend on people whether they want to be pure when they meet the one they marry or not. Besides, some people don't even want to marry - should they be denied sex? There are cultures and laws that must stay the same If we kept this logic, we'd still be living in caves and hunting for food. Humans advance - develop over time. If we were to use this set of laws, based on something that is over a thousand of years old, then we'll stop advancing. It's not that we're just bashing Islam because it's not the 'West.' What? You don't think Western people don't criticize their own laws and government? There's so much more things to be done, and unfortunately, Islamic countries are lagging way behind. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

There's so much more things to be done, and unfortunately, Islamic countries are lagging way behind. 1) Stoning to death gives an example to the public which says, don't do it, or it'll be you. 2) It is by the Qu'ran and I am muslim. It is also not right, as people of opposite genders were made for each other, not the same. 3) Sex before marriage leads to so many problem it's not funny. You can say speeding is my decision, but wait, it's against the law. Edit: I forgot the other part. Places must be reserved so future generations of the same religion may look upon it for guidance. This land has a religion on whuch it is based on, and thus the religion must be extended. The same can be said for the United States. It is obvious Christian Politicans control the governemt, and it also obvious they care more of their own religion's beleifs.

If you say terrorism is connected to Islam, do you care to forgot the other terrorist acts done by people that are not muslim?

They then resort to extreme methods, such as acts of "terrorism".
