Twelve people from my school have been chosen to go to Luxembourg. AND I'M ONE OF THEM! Ten 8th graders and two 7th graders ( One of them is me). We're going to attend the Global Issues Network Conference held yearly in Luxembourg. The flight is at 11 PM on March 20th. So I got 3 weeks of an empty stomach to get ready for the pork. I live in an Islamic country, and pork is forbidden. I'm not muslim and I havn't had pork in years. I seriously can't wait to meet all the people from the different schools... and eat that pork.

Anyways, has anyone here been to Luxembourg? Is it nice?

Congratulations... I've never been to another country outside of the United States.

What exactly is this about? Just about current issues in the world? What will you do there?

Nice, next year I'm probably going to one of these:Germany ( a UN i think meeting, that we're hoping to get observer status on) china (we're honored guests, and my school has been working closely with them.)

My school made a environmental organization, and also working with china with Chinese students, and a little bit of the government. Honored guests ftw! \'

Remember, if you are doing something like picking out a pastery at a shop and don't know the name of it in the country's language, grunt and point, or point and say something like "mm-hm".

Luxembourg is very awesome IMO... I want to live there... It has the highest average GPA in the world, a pretty small population, nice climate, and it's in Europe (which has awesome foods, mountains, etc.).

I suggest eating "borscht" (bo(as in boy)rshh(t at end in some countries)) (Russian and Eastern European kind of soup... it's good...) and "gulach" (goo-lashh) (Hungarian I think... the word has different meanings in different regions (gulach is a kind of soup, stew and/or that kind of food that's made of about 10-20% sauce (not a soup yet) (I don't even know what stew is...)). Since Luxembourg is a rich country, you can probably find those there...

I think people there mostly know a little bit of English (official languages are French, German, and a mix of those two).

Losers...

Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?

Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.

The network is a chain of around 30 schools. We're going to discuss a branch on poverty " More economically developed countries don't want to get rid of poverty". The network, before I joined, built 2 schools in afganistan.

Even though in Romanian it doesn't have a "t", in English it's spelled borscht...

Beautiful country, full of history, but nothing there is cheap, so be prepared to pay a little more for things than you probably usually do.

Actually, compared to the countries around there, fuel is cheap. Hence the long queues at the fuel stations.. Tourists stopping by for fuel / cigarettes and alcoholic beverages (cheaper on taxes).
