He's probably right, I have been only using Terragen for 3 days. But it IS easier to use than Gimp.

TBH, that looks really gross. Over sharpened for one. Two the textures aren't that nice, and the lighting is really harsh. Try change the suns colour settings to a soft reddish, and lower the intensity. I like the second one better as well.

I assume you aren't rendering at full quality or is it just me that they look grainy(Almost look like higher end pixel signatures)? Not dissing' btw just wondering.

I think it's where I resize the image into sig size, and sharpen it. :s

Don't sharpen it then, that's very likely where the grainyness is stemming from.
