Everything that I will describe in this guide is pretty logic, but you need to think of it. Basicaly, I will describe different routes to farm! Which patches you should use at the same time and how you should travel in between them! Many people will probeably already use a route that is here, or an other one, or one that i write down, but in a slightly different order. But for those who just hop from patch to patch without a real pattern, this guide could be usefull. Feedback is always welcome. Keep my guide up for a bit and if you see something missing, tell me and I will be happy to put it in! The reason why I write this, is because I am rather bored at the moment, so I thought I'll share my methods with other gamers! 2. Transportation methods There are many ways to transport through the runescape world, some of them are very important for this guide, for that I shall repeat them here! [*:xmnn0xdk] 2.1 Teleporting Lumbridge teleport : 1 law rune , 1 earth rune , 3 air runes. Magic lvl 31 Falador teleport : 1 law rune , 1 water rune , 3 air runes. Magic lvl 37 Camelot teleport : 1 law rune , 5 air runes. Magic lvl 45 Ardougne teleport : 2 law runes , 2 water runes. Magic lvl 51. Biohazzard quest. [*:xmnn0xdk] 2.2 Boats Port Sarim <-> Entrana : Fee : 0gp , no weapons nor armor allowed! Port Sarim <-> Karamja : Fee : 30gp , no karamja rum![/u] Ardougne <-> Brimhaven : Fee : 30gp , no karamja rum![/u] [*:xmnn0xdk] 2.3 Gnome network The Grand Tree <-> : Al Kharid , White Wolf Mountain , Varrock (broken) , Karamja. The Grand Tree Quest [*:xmnn0xdk] 2.4 Jewlery & Misc Amulet of Glory : 4 charges, recharge in hero's guild, enchanted dragonstone amulet. Draynor Village , Edgeville , Karamja , Al Kharid Ring Of Dueling : 8 charges, enchanted emerald ring. Al kharid Duel Arena , Castle Wars Area. Games Necklace ; 8 charges, enchanted sapphire necklace. Burthorpe (*) Ectophial : 1 charge, recharge at ectophungus. Port Phasmatys Karamja Cart : Fee : 1 - 200 gp , Brimhaven <-> Shilo village. * U can use the games necklace to get to the hero's guild fast to recharge your ammy of glory! 3. Routes Here you will read some of the most effective routes I discovered. You will notice that there are many ways to get to a certain point, depending on the usage of special transport methods or not. I will pick a start point for each route, ofcourse, it doesn't realy matter which point you take... * ALWAYS keep a few buckets, a rake, a spade and a seed dibber and some money!!!! * $ = bank * T = Transport [*:xmnn0xdk] 3.1 Route 1 (small) Cities : Falador ($)(T) , Port Sarim (T) , Rimmington , Draynor Village ($)(T) , Lumbridge (T). Transport methods : Falador Teleport , Lumbridge teleport , Amulet of Glory , Boats Number of Patches : 2 allotment , 1 herb , 1 flower , 2 hop , 1 bush (1 tree) (1 spirit tree) Description : A very fast route, good to use when you just started farming. There is always a bank near, and you can walk all the distances without losing to much time, although there are a lot of transport methods that make it easier! [*:xmnn0xdk]Start your tour in Falador. [*:xmnn0xdk] OPTIONAL : check on your tree in the falador park if you have one. [*:xmnn0xdk]Bank at the east bank. Take out : Bush seeds , hop seeds, rake , spade , seed dibber , watering can (8), 4 buckets of (super)compost. Also possible payments for your bushes and hops. If this is the first time you are going to use rimmington and entrana, you can take flower, herb and allotment seeds / payments as well! [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk out south and when you're out of the gates continue south west, past the air altar. Keep going south west untill you reach Rimmington. [*:xmnn0xdk]Go to the Bush Patch northwest of the houses. [*:xmnn0xdk]Plant a bush and give a paymant if you have them. [*:xmnn0xdk]Take the goblin path (dark brown on the map) east untill you reach port sarim (Teleport karamja, take the boat to port sarim - 30 coins needed) [*:xmnn0xdk]Talk to the monks to go to entrana (make sure you havn't got any armor on!). [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk west and you will reach a hop patch. Plant your hops and pay a payment if possible. [*:xmnn0xdk]Take the boat back to port Sarim. [*:xmnn0xdk]If you have your flower, allotment and herb seeds here, you can continue strait north to the farm, cross the cabbage field and plant your seeds and make / take compost! [*:xmnn0xdk] Else go to draynor village (east), bank, and walk back to the farm (northwest). (Teleport Draynor Village, dragon ammy) [*:xmnn0xdk] Now walk back to draynor village (southeast) (Teleport Draynor Village , dragon ammy). [*:xmnn0xdk] Bank and take out more hop seeds, lumbridge tele runes (optional) and falador telerunes (optional), Al Kharid transport (ring of dueling , drag ammy). [*:xmnn0xdk] Walk east untill you reach a bridge, cross it and walk north, past the farm, here you will find an other hop patch! (Teleport Lumbridge , Al Kharid) [*:xmnn0xdk] Plant your seeds. [*:xmnn0xdk] Walk all the way back to your bush in rimmington, and restart the tour (Teleport to falador) [*:xmnn0xdk] 3.2 Route 2 (large) Cities : Falador ($)(T) , Port Sarim (T) , Rimmington , Draynor Village ($)(T) , Lumbridge (T) , Ardougne ($)(T) , Camelot ($)(T). Transport methods : Falador Teleport , Lumbridge teleport , Camelot teleport , Ardougne Teleport , Gnome Gliders , Amulet of Glory , Boats , ring of dueling. Number of Patches : 6 allotment , 3 herb , 3 flower , 2 hop , 2 bush , 1 fruit tree , (1 spirit tree) Description : A big route that takes you around the largest part of runescape, you could add Port Phasmatys to this route, but since the route is already big enough as it is, I didn't add it... [*:xmnn0xdk]Start your tour in Ardougne. [*:xmnn0xdk]Go to the south bank. [*:xmnn0xdk]Take out rake, spade , seed dibber, watering can, bush seed and bush payment if you have it. Maybe ardougne teleport runes but that's a waste of 2 laws... [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk south past the harbor, go southwest untill you reach a church, a little bit north is a bush patch. [*:xmnn0xdk]Plant your bush [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk back (follow the road, through the zoo, up to north bank) (Teleport ardougne) [*:xmnn0xdk]Bank, take out flower, herb, allotment seeds (take all double!) and Camelot teleport. [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk east, untill you reach the gate with the 3 guards, go north and west past the farming shop, here you will reach more patches. [*:xmnn0xdk]Compost and plant and harvest if possible [*:xmnn0xdk]If you're ready here, teleport to Camelot. (or walk, but it's quite far) [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk south and harvest the patch in catherby if possible. If you still got the seeds (told you to take them double!) you can already plant them. Now walk south a bit and you're in the bank. [*:xmnn0xdk]Bank and see how you're going to teleport. Take out hop seeds, and depending on your way of travel lumbridge tele runes, ring of dueling, ammy of glory, or nothing. [*:xmnn0xdk]Make your way to the hop patch in lumbridge (north of the farm). Either use lumbridge teleport, al kharid teleport (ammy of glory) , Duel arena teleport (ring of dueling) , or walk up the white wolf mountain, take the gnome glider to the Grand Tree. And Take that glider towards Al Kharid. [*:xmnn0xdk]Plant your hops and walk back to draynor village (west) (Amulet of Glory to draynor village) [*:xmnn0xdk]Bank, take out Ardougne teleport , Flower, herb , allotment, bush and hop seeds (if this is not possible , just flower, herb and allotment!). [*:xmnn0xdk]Walk northwest, untill you reach the farm with the cabbage field, cross the field and you'll end up at yet an other patch! Plant your flower, herb and allotment seeds here. [*:xmnn0xdk]If you need to bank now, you could either walk back to draynor (Amulet of Glory to draynor village) or to falador (Teleport to Falador) and rebank. [*:xmnn0xdk]Make your way to Port Sarim, take the boat to Entrana and plant your hop seeds. [*:xmnn0xdk]Take the boat back and walk west by the goblin path (brownish). [*:xmnn0xdk]When you reach Rimmingon, walk west and you'll see the bush patch. Plant your bush. [*:xmnn0xdk]Tele yourself back to Ardougne! (Teleport to ardougne) (Walk back to port sarim, boat to karamja , walk to brimhaven, and take the boat to Ardougne). [*:xmnn0xdk] 3.3 High lvl route (by xpx) Items : allotment , herb , flower , bush seeds (lvl 70 farming). Calquat salpings (lvl 72 farming), fruit tree and tree salpings , super energy potions , nature ammy (72 farming) , lava staff , ring of dueling. Start inventory : Teleport vial , allotment , bush , flower , herb seeds. 2 watering cans, rake, spade, secateurs , seed dibber , 4 buckets (compost/supercompost) , 2 super energy potions , cash , law runes , air runes , water runes , wielded lava staff , boots of lightness. description : This is rather a guide for the higher lvl farmers. Xpx (the writer) says you have to be at least 27, but I think there are better ways from 27 farming on. But once your reacht 40 - 50 farming, this guide is one of the better options! Please note that this guide is based on all HIGH lvl seeds and high lvl items (lava staff etc), so if you havn't got to much money, find alternatives! [*:xmnn0xdk] teleport to camelot and refill your 2 watering cans-bank if you have good herbs in inv(or use cw) run to catebury alloment patches- [point 1] farm there-if nothing is ready water everything- restock on the compost bin there if you have any in there...if you grow watermelons and the bin is empty then fill the bin with watermelons. [*:xmnn0xdk]teleport to lumbridge- check the tree patch there- replace if ready-water if not [*:xmnn0xdk]teleport to ardougne- bank if needed(herbs) run to the alloment patches north of ardy- repeat point 1 there. [*:xmnn0xdk] teleport to falador-refill your watering cans there. bank at fally east if needed- run to the alloment pathes north of port sarim- repeat point 1 there. [*:xmnn0xdk] teleport to ardougne- bank if needed(herbs) run to the alloment patches north of ardy- repeat point 1 there. Thanx to xpx! 4. Usefull Waiting It is ofcourse possible, that you are tired of walking around, but you still want to train farming. Then I suggest you do one of the following things, while waiting for your crops! [*:xmnn0xdk]4.1 Alching Where : All patches Description : Take everything you have that needs alching, in notes ofcourse, and just start alching :-) [*:xmnn0xdk]4.2 Fishing Where : Catherby allotment - herb - flower patch & fruit tree patch. Description : Go catch some lobsters, swordies or even sharks, cook them and after every load go check on your crops! [*:xmnn0xdk]4.3 Woodcutting Where : Catherby , Draynor Village Description : Go chop some yews west of catherby and bank them, after every load check your crops. If yews are to high you can try maples, but it's more walking. You could also cut willows at catherby, but for willows I found draynor better. If willows are no use to you, you could still sell or burn them. Draynor includes some more walking though [*:xmnn0xdk]4.4 Firemaking Where : Draynor Village , Ardougne Description : Read above for draynor, but ardougne is better (less walking). Just chop a load of maples, burn them, check on your crops. Chop, burn, crops,... You can find 6 maple trees west of legends guild (east of herb - flower - allotment patch) [*:xmnn0xdk]4.5 Runecrafting Where : Al kharid (fire) , entrana (laws) , karamja (natures) , falador (airs). Description : If you're waiting for your trees to grow, runecrafting is a very good way to wait! If you took the small route, and your crops are not ready yet, you can also do some rc in the meanwhile. From karamja you could go to al kharid fast with the gnome glider, which brings u to the lumbridge patches, law crafting is of course great because you almost pass the hop patch, same goes for air crafting! [*:xmnn0xdk]4.6 Farm hunting Where : Port Phasmatys , Lumbridge , Camelot / Catherby Description : Ever want to make 5K arrows? But you didn't realy feel like spending money on the feathers? So you have to kill chickens. Well, nothing better to do then killing chickens while waiting! If you arrive a few minutes early for you crops, just start some chicken killing! Port Phasmatys (detour) is great! There are loads of undead chickens right next to the allotment patches! In Catherby you'll have to do some walking. Walk up to camelot, continue up to sinclair mansion, hardly anybody here! Then in lumbridge, strait south of the hop patch is a farm where it's usually quite crowded. 5. Tips Here I'll give you some suggestions and tips about farming and transport. [*:xmnn0xdk]5.1 What to take Taking to much gear will cost you a lot of energy, and also a lot of time! Which is not very postive, now is it? Therefore just take the necessary. Wear : Ring of Dueling , Ammy Of Glory , Farming boots. Backpack : Only necessary types of seeds , rake , watering can , 4 buckets , money (1K will do, you can take more) , seed dibber , spade. It's not of any use to take weapons and armor, it will just slow you down, there isn't realy a chance you get attacked whilst farming... [*:xmnn0xdk]5.2 Teleport spells Teleportation spells will make your life as a farmer hell lot easier. Therefore make sure you always have laws and airs (air staff) near you! You can get the laws at world 66, walk up to entrana with 27 rune essence (unnoted), and trade one of the people in red ;-) [*:xmnn0xdk]5.3 Recharging your glory An other thing that makes everything go faster is your glory amulet! Only it has but 4 charges. Therefore, use a games necklace, this wil get you to the games room in burthorpe. Walk up the stairs, and south out of the building, run south till you reach the hero's guild! Go in the dungeons and you will find the fountain where you can recharge your glory! [*:xmnn0xdk]5.4 Super compost Super compost gives you a lot more to harvest from your crops! That's why you should make as many super compost as possible. So, take a gnome glider up to the grand tree, go down 2 ladders. Go west and buy 5 pineapples , go east and do the same, switch worlds and buy an other 10. Now you have enough for 15 buckets of super compost! (15 pineapples needed), you could also keep switching for more if you want. [*:xmnn0xdk]5.5 Energy Potions Use energy potions if you need to walk! Get the chocolate from the gnome stronghold (10 chocolate bars and 10 chocolate dust there!) and the harralanders from your herb crops (if you have them)! Then always take 1 or 2 when you have a long journey, then you won't get stuck without energy :-) [*:xmnn0xdk]5.6 Payments to farmers NEVER drop your products! Buy some sacks and stuff them in (or baskets), or drop something else that's useless. Most of the products you get from your patches have a second use, many of them are payments! Hops you can brew, all the rest you need to pay farmers! I strongly suggest you do this. If you just bought a tree seed for 20K, you better nog let it die, so just let a farmer take care of it. It might get a bit tricky when you get along further, and you might actually have to buy these products (eg : 4 baskets of apples if you just have 1 apple tree, takes a while...), but in the end you won't regret it! 6. Player suggestions Here you can read some of the additional tours other players have that I have missed. For keeping things clean, I'll add them here! These are taken literaly from other posts (with knowledge of the writer of course!) [*:xmnn0xdk] Expansion Ardougne - Yanille [*:xmnn0xdk] tele to yanille watch tower [*:xmnn0xdk] run/walk to yanille hops patch (stopping at bank if needed) [*:xmnn0xdk] immediately west of hops patch is sink and range (if u need water or have barley to roast) [*:xmnn0xdk] run/walk out of yanille (stopping at bank) heading due north [*:xmnn0xdk] harvest/plant bush patch (just ssw of ardy) [*:xmnn0xdk] then (ardy bank if needed) boat to karamja [*:xmnn0xdk] pick curry leaves (or what ever) from fruit tree patch and top off with pineapples Wink [*:xmnn0xdk] back to ardy bank and back to watermelons, etc Submitted by : Edvrmn [*:xmnn0xdk]Catherby - Grand tree [*:xmnn0xdk] short run/walk to fruit tree east of catherby and pick fruit [*:xmnn0xdk] run/walk up wolf mountain to gnome glider [*:xmnn0xdk] glider to gnome village [*:xmnn0xdk] bank if needed [*:xmnn0xdk] short run/walk south of grand tree to fruit tree and pick fruit [*:xmnn0xdk] tele to next farming location Submitted by : Edvrmn [*:xmnn0xdk]Gnome route [*:xmnn0xdk] ring of dueling tele to castle wars [*:xmnn0xdk] bank if needed [*:xmnn0xdk] leave castel wars and go across bridge to the south then continues east following the river east then north [*:xmnn0xdk] harvest from the fruit tree patch [*:xmnn0xdk] go little north east and talk to the gnome elkroy(sp?) to be taken into the gnome village [*:xmnn0xdk] grand tree tele to gnome stronghold [*:xmnn0xdk] walk east and harvest from fruit tree [*:xmnn0xdk] walk back to tree and tele to kahazard battlefield [*:xmnn0xdk] walk east and south to the bush patch and harvest the bush [*:xmnn0xdk] go northeast to ardougne bank, bank making sure to withdraw 30gp [*:xmnn0xdk] take boat to brimhaven and harvest fruit tree [*:xmnn0xdk] tele to begining of allotment farming route Submitted by : Edvrmn [*:xmnn0xdk] Expansion Port Phasmatys You need the ectophial (from the ghost's ahoy quest) [*:xmnn0xdk] Tele to Port Phasmatys (phial), take your allotment - herb - flower seeds out already! edvrmn
very well laid out :) logistics is indeed the key to efficient and successful farming (in my opinion). As long as ur working as many crops as ur skills allow u to access, not carrying more items/weight than u need, and not back tracking alot ...ur doing good. :) when doing my farming rounds, i also add this leg to the journey: 1) tele to yanille watch tower 2) run/walk to yanille hops patch (stopping at bank if needed) 2b) immediately west of hops patch is sink and range (if u need water or have barley to roast) 3) run/walk out of yanille (stopping at bank) heading due north 4) harvest/plant bush patch (just ssw of ardy) 5) then (ardy bank if needed) boat to karamja 6) pick curry leaves (or what ever) from fruit tree patch and top off with pineapples  7) back to ardy bank and back to watermelons, etc i also have fruit trees (curry) at cathrby and gnome village and add this leg when in catherby: 1) short run/walk to fruit tree east of catherby and pick fruit 2) run/walk up wolf mountain to gnome glider 3) glider to gnome village 3b) bank if needed 4) short run/walk south of grand tree to fruit tree and pick fruit 5) tele to next farming location farming isnt a one size fits all so u have to find wat fits... lol hope this helps too rs member Nov '02awesome siggy by Alduron aka The Pup

bambino
Sorry, but I realy can't agree. Bushes are pretty good xp, hops are not, but IF you can just pass a hop patch, why not just grow it?? It won't kill you, nor will it hurt you, it will just give you extra xp and take you a little more time zo your other crops will certainly be grown. The reason I didn't realy put in many trees, is because trees are quite expensive, and if you have the tree seeds and you can plant them (which means you must have a OK lvl already), then you probeably have figured out what's the best way to fit them in ;-) I know what I know and what I know might well not be what you want to know but then seeing as only I know what I know and you do not know what I know then you will not know if what I know is what you would like to know
xpx
most of my xp comes from fruit trees and trees 8) First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015.

That's btw stupid ;-). If you HAVE the products and you can either chose to pay them to farmers, which will make your farming easier! or you can just dump them.
