  1. If their goal happens to be to own a lot of cash, then let them be? I find it quite interesting myself tbh, and if you don't, then so be it... But erhm, what happened to r2pleasant himself?
  2. it's just a faster way of training :s. Power RC'ing. When you powermine, you drop the ores to right? Then what's the point to mine something and drop it straightaway? Look at it that way :)
  3. that's the whole point of defence, to not get hit, obviously you'd win everytime, your stats where just better ;). Now make it interesting and put a 99 atk, 99 str, 75 def against a 75 atk, 99 str, 99def, and later against a 99 atk, 75 str, 99 def that's already a tad more interesting if you ask me :). The problem with defence is that it's only usefull in harder fights or player versus player fights. It doesn't benefit you at all when you are training, since you usually train on monsters that won't hit all that much and all that high.
  4. Funny how a thread that noone cares about got 18 pages of replies already. Obviously you are one of the few who feels this way, and you know what they usually do? They steer clear of the thread ;). How can it POSSIBLY bother you if you don't open it? Perhaps you should see the community as a bunch of people in stead of as a bunch of identical clones to yourself?
  5. you realise they probably have those? Simply not enough to cope with all the autoers... Everytime one gets banned, a dozen more hop out of the tutorial island. Speaking figuratively ofcourse, but you get my point.
  6. Yes, I believe they do -.- This claim is yet again so absurd that it requires no further comment :o
  7. This is ridiculous... Things like this get people so disappointed whenever they see a regular update. "Omg, only a quest? I thought we were getting a new skill ". There is NO foundation WHAT SO EVER for what you're claiming, it almost made me laugh.
  8. Zybez if I need a price check on something, tipit for all the rest :). Well and also the occasional article on runehead, but that doesn't count as "fansite" I guess...
  9. I sincerely doubt they would store your own logs on your own computer. What's the point then? Say you do a format, that means they lose it all :o. Say you switch pc's? Say you just find them and erase them :/. I think they take logs regularely, they just don't keep them to long :).
  10. Lmao so the only noticable advantage of new A.D. is the ability to wear new and awsome " Varrock armour"? ( well we had a good half year of nice updates so i wont start [bleep] around) Yep. I didn't expect anything remarkable, as there is only so much potential with such a noobish area as Varrock. Way to go, Miniclippers. You chose a winner with this one! Mining 2x coal is the most useful thing in this update, and that is gotten from the EASY diary. This update reeks of fail. You got the god wars dungeon a couple of weeks ago. So just, SHUT UP :s
  11. Silv comes out when it matters, obviously this was one of those matters. Goodbye lightning, I saw you under many responsibilities. It still amazes me how well you coped with that for what, 6 years now? You were great. I'm not expecting to see much of you ever again if not here, and that saddens me a bit. G'bye
  12. Meh, do you realise the bigness of this cap-raising? They called the god wars dungeon already one of the biggest updates this year. But raising every skill even a few levels requires much much more than this update;). For starters you would need a whole new set of monsters, harder then the ones we know now. And also every skill should have something that makes it worthwhile to train so high, and seeing how many skills don't offer benefits at high 90 levels now, it will require a LOT of time & thinking to raise the cap on every skill. Smithing is maxed out, and people will train the combat related skills anyway, just to hit higher. But you'll need new slayer monsters, new runes to double craft, new stuff to craft, new ores to mine, new bows to fetch, new fish to catch, new food to cook, new rooms to build, new monsters to hunt, etc etc etc. I don't think that the cap will ever be raised. While new high-hitting weapons are being introduced, other high-defensive armour is also being introduced. Which softens up the chances of hitting so high repeatedly... I don't do PvP so I can't fully comprehend what the new weapons and armour mean to the PvP'ing world, but every weapon has it's strong and soft spots. Sure you can get 2 hitted easily (theoretically speaking) now, but if you're worthy of your opponent, then you should be able to wield the same equipment he is, but you perhaps chose not to. Doesn't he/she deserve to be rewarded for his/her daring? Or on the other side, punished for his/her recklessness? Nah, I don't see the need to raise the caps, and I don't see it happening either, tbh :).
  13. hmmm. I was quite satisfied when I was able to wield my dragon Halberd. I'd been dreaming about it ever since I became a member :). I was also very very satisfied when I hit 60 prayer and completed my all 60's goal, over a year ago now. I had to redo it a couple of times since then ḫ̩̉̉ḫ̩̉̉. Things like my first mill, first barrow drop (torag legs) and 2nd (and last) drop (guthan helm :) ). I had to try over 100 times to get the guthan helm, they were 3.2 at the time, so that was very satisfying indeed! Then there's also my entrance to the members world!! First act was mugging a man in Falador. I had some good times with a few friends, finishing quests together, or just sharing achievements. Most of which I sadly lost contact with nowadays. Good times :)
  14. http://www.getfirefox.com Give that a try :)
  15. Perhaps the GodSword will be the Runescapean version of Kratos' chainblades :)? For those who never played/heard of God Of War :
  16. Yes, and that is only partially correct. The updates of runescape are NOT losing maturity AT ALL. Ofcourse, you haven't witnessed all to many of them, as a F2P player. Why can't you just accept that even though you have a point, most of your arguments are not even founded on something real ;) That's the last I'll say, we can keep going forever, and I usually tend to do so :P
  17. http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_i ... tory=13769 According to Andrew, membership was spawned from lack of funds, not greed. Exactly. It's what happens to every free game ;). I remember quite a few MMORPG's that used to be free 2 play, but eventually had to make the change towards pay to play. Of those, RuneScape is one of the cheapest ;) I challenge you to keep a game, comparable in size to runescape, on ONLY advertisement adds. Oh yes, and it's your main income as well as that of dozen others. Good luck Prankster, I'll drop the title king for now :/
  18. I have not read and don't have time to read the posts after the first reply of Prankster_king, but seeing my previous posts I feel obliged to response to his writing :). Prankster_King, you say that Jagex has developed a certain amount of greed. Erhm, how can you possibly know that? Do you have any idea of the costs to keep the servers of RuneScape running? How expensive an hour of work is of any employee? (and they have a lot. Customer support, programmers, marketing & PR folks, lawyers, auditors,...) Sure, more players bring more money in the drawers. But 1 member pays 5$ a month, while every member updates requires dozens, if not hundreds hours of work, at a much higher hourly rate. Surely Jagex is a profitable business, otherwise noone would bother to keep up with it for 6 years. But saying that they are greedy is way out of order. You have no proof whatsoever to support this, and there aren't even any indications :/. Any healthy businessman would like his firm to grow in it's early stage, hence the Miniclip advertisements. Jagex hasn't done ANYTHING to gain more money. The ads are still the same (no extra ones on the side etc), hell they even replaced the ads with some of their own :o. The monthly fee for members has not increased. But yet what a member, and even what a free player (as yourself, which you still don't acknowledge) gets, has been expanded many times. So yes, I'll give you the fact that there are some immature people there, and most likley they are coming (partially?) from Miniclip. However everything else you stated is still pure cabbage in my opinion, as expressed last week.
  19. No, I don't believe he did. He had a valid point about the maturity of Runescape's updates decreasing. I have been playing Runescape since I was seven years old!. And heck, I have NEVER been scammed or hacked. Ever. And nor did I beg. So I can safely, without any thought of being an ignorant/arrogant moron, that all those players who do die in the wilderness/other areas die of their own fault. They should know what they are getting into before actually doing it. Even when I was seven, I used to research about quests/whatever before doing it. If kids get all the cons of something handed to them on a platter, then I believe it's not good for them. Runescape's updates ARE being more focussed on the younger kids, which makes it more boring for those of us who are more mature than those kids. I KNOW I will be flamed for this by someone, but the thing is, I have played Runescape before the age of 8 (which, for some reason, seems the stereotypical age for young player in Runescape), and so I KNOW that if they just read before the do things, they are fine. And I was 13 recently (which is the stereotypical age for immature in Runescape), I know that 13 year olds can solve things on their own and only pester others because they get their way. It's the same way in classes. If the class is harder, or the teacher doesn't make it too easy for them, the kids my age don't act so immaturely. Now, they are getting too many signs and such things warning them about danger in the wilderness! Personally, I thought that the one sign before entering the wilderness was fine. In the recent past, Jagex hasn't release too many really tough quests, such as Desert Treasure, Mourning Ends II, and Recipe for Disaster, to name a few, which does make Runescape a tad bit more boring. Anyways, about Miniclip: I think that Miniclip is one of the reason for Runescape's increasing immaturity. However, we mustn't forget that Miniclip is a MAJOR reason why Runescape is so large. So I don't defend nor attack Miniclip in this matter. Thanks, OT The only truth in prankster_king's article was that there are some young people in the game, and that there also are some immature people in the game. But everything else he says is cabbage. These 2 letters, and the one from last week (erhm, mine ) proove that nicely. I'lld still LOVE to see him reply really. Both letters were nice reads indeed! As for the editor, letters & guest articles are fun for a while, but not for months in a row :(. I hope he/she returns sooner rather then later, or that they at least find a new one :D
  20. Erhm, please tell me you knew that before you read the article :| I think the point was to think about it for a moment before we start complaining once more, not so much pointing out that Jagex is made out of real people, and not genetically manipulated monkies :|
  21. I kinda like the one I sigged :) I know some RL ones that are better, but I'll stick to this one here, for now
  22. a bunch of disturbing comments in this thread, it'd be nice if you kept those to yourselves :| Nice pics, gotta love the superman one ^^
  23. Herblore, Slayer, RC. In that order :). The first to are actually my more favorable skills, although they are one of the low end of my stats
  24. thanx for the nice words anyone, it feels good to know there are people who actually share my opinion :). Nonetheless, I don't think the letters to the editor are the way of waging out a 'personal' battle. I would be glad to hear what he has to say though and reply accordingly, incase he feels the need, I reply to every PM I read ^^
