It will either be better, but a damn sight more expensive, or have a wicked special and not be as good. I think, for those who own one, it will overtake the d scimmy as the best str training weapon, but will be a little too expensive for most (because the benefit wont be -that- much greater).

Jagex would have to be fools to make a weapon more powerful than the whip that is the same speed as the whip. You can already hit up to 46 with the whip... Anything remotely stronger is TOO strong for the current 99 HP system that exists. I predict the Godsword will replace the anchor as the most universal two-handed weapon... It will probably be like a mini-dharoks without the handicap of needing low HP to hit really high,, capable of hitting in the high 50s or low 60s with max strength and prayer + pots, but the normal speed of a two-handed weapon.

How the hell do you know any of that? It hasn't come out, and knowing Jagex (although they have improved drastically over the past few months), it could be another cool sounding, but utterly useless update. (shadow sword minigame, anyone?)

Theres gotta be some catch to it, like the whip not being able to train strength or spears having to train controlled/def only, im not saying its going to be a bad weapon but theres always a catch.

Yes, this is a very real possibility.... Especially if the dungeon is in the wilderness, and the Godsword is a "rare drop." If those are the circumstances, I guarantee it will be worth over 100m and just take its place as another item that is useless because its insane rarity and price doesn't justify its stats, like the third age gear and dragon full helm.

What's with the people who want to stick arbitrary requirements on weapons solely to exclude a group of people? That's just stupid.

 

 

 

Anyway, as far as this thread goes, no one really knows except Jagex. Therefore, you'll just have to sit tight and wait for the update 8-).

If this is going to be more powerful than a whip, Jagex will have dealt a blow to the combat system.

Godsword's going to be terribly slow probably.... Sounds like a 2hander

Personally, I don't think it will be as fast as the whip but more powerful stats wise- and with a more powerful special (considering the whip special, that isn't difficult :? )

The Anchor is that too (better spec, more accurate and more powerfull, but slower)...

 

 

 

It requires less stats to wield then a whip does...

 

 

 

Nah, they'll probably make it untradable, and this godwars dungeon be something like a miniquest...

 

 

 

As for power, spec and speed and such... I imagine it'll be 1handed, has the speed of a longsword, and similar stats as a whip. It'll probably allow you to train strength with it, and will have a pretty decent spec (like shooting a fireball, or hitting multiple enemies, or both)...

if theyre is a godsword i think jagex will become wise to what would happen if it was tradeable.it would make more sense if it was untradeable making it like the firecape.it would probably be someting like teh firecape where if you die with the fire cape on you would lose it in most instancess.then you have to go back to the dungeon to get the god sword which the warriors have retrieved back.
