Here's a better picture of the new Demonic thing in the God Wars Dungeon. I'm guessing it'll drop the new GodSword, but as someone else said, let's hope it doesn't make the whip look really bad, 'cause if it does, that wouldn't be good. :?

I can almost guarantee the Godsword WILL be two-handed. It only makes logical sense that the most powerful sword in the world requires immense strength to wield.

The d med didn't drop much after the d full came out. I think the godsword would cost to much for the whip to plumet :-k

 

 

 

I agree. If the Godsword is much better than the whip, the whip would probably only decrease by 200-300k.

 

 

 

It was the same with the Darkbow. The price of the next best weapon (msb) was so low, and the price of the new one so high, that the msb was hardly affected.

 

 

 

Although if the price did drop 200k, that would be equal to a free barrows repair, or 1k cannon balls. But a weapon that varies in power depending on your att/str/def/hp ratio would be awesome.

 

 

 

For example. Jagex makes a weapon intended for pkers. It would be great at 80att/90str/40def/80hp, but not so good if you have 85att/90str/90def/85hp. This weapon would also be good at 40att/45str/20def/40hp, since it is the same ratio. This would let people use a much wider variety of weapons, instead of the one with just the "best stats".

 

 

 

Kill_Thomas, thats a brilliant idea. It would add much-needed complexity to the straightforward "whip owns everything" combat system we have now.

How the hell do you know any of that? It hasn't come out, and knowing Jagex (although they have improved drastically over the past few months), it could be another cool sounding, but utterly useless update. (shadow sword minigame, anyone?)

Thanks. This really would own if it were put into the game. The "one weapon owns all" combat system is really runescape's downfall. In all other games there are several weapons that everybody wants, that all have the up and down sides. Runescape doesn't. And it's this lack of variety that makes many people move on to games such as WOW or Guild Wars, or other such games.

What exactly defines the price? The difficulty to get it? The speed? The power? The sheer pwnage? No one knows...

 

 

 

Price is actually not determened by any of these, but supply and demand.

 

 

 

If demand is high and supply is low, its super expensive.

 

If demand is low and supply is high, its low in price.

 

 

 

But, If the demand is high, but the supply is high (Whips) They continue to fall until the demand is higer than supply, or until they go so low the supply refuses to get more, and thus making demand higher.

 

 

 

However, if both supply and demand are BOTH low, like erm..

 

Bronze Boots? Then they arn't worth much, since theres no demand :)

 

 

 

Thats how it works.

 

 

 

Example:

 

Dark Bow.

 

 

 

On day of release, it was low supply and high demand = High price.

 

 

 

A month later, still a semi-low supply, but not as high demand, so a fairly lower price.

 

 

 

Yes, but the factors that lewagold2 mentioned strongly effect Supply and Demand , so they do have an effect on price.

 

 

 

People wouldn't want the weapon if it wasn't fast, strong, or cool looking, so there wouldn't be much Demand ^-^

 

 

 

And conversely, if it was hard to get, then Supply would be low.

The Godsword will not be worthless. And it will not get rid of the whip.

 

 

 

It will have most likely be very slow, powerful, and rare. There's a good chance it will be 2-handed as well

 

 

 

It wont get rid of the whip, just as the msb didn't become worthless after the advent of the Darkbow. It'll just be another weapon. But I hope that it will help add variety to the game ^-^ I'm sick of only seeing whips.

they should have made it into a god spear or halberd, not only would it have been more interesting because you can't use a shield, but also it would make more sense, since historically, swords were pretty weak, instead spears and axes were the weapons of choice.

to be honest, i think it'll be like the staff of armdyl, unweildable.

 

if it can be used, then melee will most likely be able to hit in the 60's with it, which is way too high for something that will probably do it far more often than dragonfire bolts.

 

im just hoping its a relic or something we can get some $$ for from some NPC.

 

 

 

to me, this sounds like they're releasing archeology as a skill, i mean think about it, monsters frozen in time, tectonic movement has uncovered them, the only problem with that theory is the add. :roll:

i didn't read past pg 1 lol i'm lazy why do you think it's goin to be thebest weapon in the game.. and yes it does say powerful godsword on the BTS for those who didnt know lol.. For all we know it could be garbage, but someone correct me if i'm wrong it does mention something about the 3rd age and that sword together.. It could possibly be a level 65 sword better than dragon but not quite as good as a whip.

What if the sword can morph into either a bow, staff or every different form of melee weapon (claws, warhammer, etc...) so that it's "equal" for each trype of combat. Plus it'll probably have a huge prayer bonus and requirement. Or, what if it's (kind of) like the Holy Wrench and you need it for 3 new prayers, a Saradomin one, a Guthix one, and a Zamorak one, requiring 80 Prayer?

God what's with people?... I KNOW most people hate mining so why does everyone wish for a dragon pickaxe? . Has NO ONE noticed that we don't have a dragon warhammer yet? I'd trade a pickaxe for a warhammer any day of the week.

 

 

 

As far as guesses about the God sword go.... my guess is better stats than anchor (anchor is a quest item... how good could it really be in the long-run), two-handed, maybe a powerful spec, and it could possibly resemble 3rd age melee equipment (white/black).

u guys think that the final monster will be so powerfull?i dont think so coz it is a demon and demons were always weaker then dragons and this demon will probably be the strongest demon on rs the strongest dragon in rs is the kbd (imo)and if dragons>demons then kbd>that new monster so i believe it will be around 250 combat gods sword will be powerfull but if it will be untradeble i dont believe it will be as powerfll as the whip if it will be tradeble then i bbelieve they will be even weopons :mrgreen:

Why would Jagex make yet another useless weapon that nobody will use? Jagex has obviously been spending a lot of time on this dungeon, seeing as we havn't had any quests in over a month (which isn't a bad thing IMO). Why would they ruin it by making another crap weapon that wont be used?

I'm sure that it won't replace the whip because I'm sure that Jagex would realize that the combat triangle would be ruined if it did. Instead, I think it will be a very powerful 2h weapon.
