Goutweed collecting (with images) (2005) (AOW)

You are the white line

the traffic/trolls are the black lines

-> start by following the first white line in picture 1. when the yellow dots/traffic is almost exactly the same as it is in the picture. so for short, run west until you reach the wall.

->picture 2 follows on from picture 1. the moment you reach the west wall in picture one run south, then east, then north to the star. here you are safe from any trolls aslong as you dont move.

-> picture 3 depicts the route that the troll will make, observe it and work out when would be the safest time to run. or, look at the next picture.

-> picture 4 shows the path youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll make untilÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ you reach the Goutweed. run that path when the map is similar to mine, just remember to stay behind the troll and dont run past him (not sure if its possible yet, but weÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll think it is)

-> next grab the goutweed and get caught by the troll instantly and youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll be moved back to the start.

Ok, here's a few pointers I think could considerably improve your guide, which I can see you've already put some effort into already. First, maybe you could let us in on the purpose of goutweed, and why this method of collection would be most effective. Second, you could further improve your guide by telling us the location of this cave where we can obtain the weed, and if it involves a quest, link the questguide to it. Hope this guide is a stepping stone for greater prospects from you. :D

For those who don't know what Goutweed it, it is used in the Edgars Ruse Quest, infact it IS the Edgars Ruse quest, which purpose is to retrieve the Goutweed from the Troll Stronghold.

Goutweed can be traded with the Druid Sanafew, for random herbs which can range from Guam right up to Dwarfweed and higher. (Possible exclusion of Toadflax and Snapdragon herbs)

Nice, I had a similiar routine when I went there once (took me about 3 turns to figure it out) that didn't involve the weaving in and out from the 2nd step in your guide :P

After many failed attempts to get the goutweed and all my lobs exhausted, i just made a mad dash to the goutweed and got it. :?

mmm.......gout tuber can also be planted for gout weed :D

Goutweed is pretty bad now. They lowered the amount of herbs you get for it :(

i got a few goutweeds and got some ranarrs for them :wink:

I always wen't another route, like up the centre, but this one is way better because my old one i got cought a lot 8)

Asking for those that do collect Goutweeds, if you get a Jekyll random event near a bank, go and grab a goutweed before talking to jekyll.

Find out what potion he gives you in exchange for goutweed if you will.

Post results here or in random events forum. One rumor was it's Super Weapon Poison, but I seriously doubt that.

sweet guide overall but u might want to edit the pics and make them look a bit more how do u say it proffesional

Great Guide, except that I did it without one and it wasted 3 hours.... (partly because I was waiting for my HP to increase)

I wish it was there when I did it, it would really save time :)
