December 17, 200520 yr Just my oppinion but they take emo too far this post about hating emo is wrong because emo is still a genre that is musically talented Screamo takes the same guitar and music but screams the words, my question is why? The only good screamo band i have found is Hawthorne Heights

December 17, 200520 yr I love Screamo. I usually find the lyrics to be meaningful and touching if you can make out what they are saying :wink: Quite a tricky task at times. Not all are just plain Screamo, but some include a soft touch here and there..those are the best if you ask me. Some of my favorites include: +Norma Jean +Emery +Underoath +Stiletto Formal +He Is Legend +Greeley Estates Too many to name actually :) I love 'em all. By The_Jeppoz :wink:

December 18, 200520 yr I thought I already made a thread about this. Hawthorne Heights is screamo, some of the more earlier screamo I might add. Screamo is an excelent category of music, because it gives you that "adrenaline-mosh" type feeling with a good sense of emotions tied with the song.

I checked some out but really didnt find anything worth listening to : not sure if It Dies Today are screamo (more metalcore?) but they're good. Sir_Itchlot : a bunch of those are post-hardcore for sure. Alexisonfire are amazin btw

December 19, 200520 yr Some of its alright when used with good backing music and coupled with proper singing and good lyrics. The Used for example are pretty good. Classic examples of good ol 'fashioned screamo. Mainstream, commercialised, not Screamo. Bands more like Portraits of Past are true screamo and were around long before all this chart crap came out (1997 i believe they formed). A static lullaby formed in 2001. The used's first album was in 2002. Go figure
December 20, 200520 yr Just because the certain bands became popular and mainstream doesn't exclude it from being Screamo. just because things become popular doesn't automatically change its music style. I used to love all of those bands before they became mainstream, doesn't change the fact that their is emo lyrics with screaming? I don't quite get your knowledge Futurama.... :/
