I no my stats aren't that great. I just mailed in my check for members yesterday, and I am hopefully going to be one next week.

I'm going for:

60 def

60 ranged

68 fishing

60 mage

before I become a member. I know that this is an achievable goal. I was just wondering, does anyone out there have any advice as to what stats to train up first, which important quests to do etc., etc.?

Thanks everyone!

(57 defence achieved)

(60 ranged achieved)

(58 woodcutting achieved)

(59 woodcutting achieved)

At your level I recommend you do the following quests:

Lost City

Heroes

Monkey Madness (After 43 prayer)

Also, I would recommend you familiarise yourself with the map. I spent an hour or two walking around major cities and getting to grips with everything.

I was definitely going to do Lost City right away, and buy myself a drag long. Do I really have high enough stats for monkey madness though? My lvl 84 friend tried 4 times before he killed it. (He doesn't have 43 pray though  )

Im currently at strong hold running around frantically picking up random bones and burying, lol.

Also, what about the waterfall quest? Isn't that the one for the Fire Giants, and aren't they supposed to be great xp?

Yeh, I'm only like 20k xp away from it now, so, shouldn't be too long. Hopefully in a couple of hours :D . How much does red d hide cost roughly? Anyone know?

Any good training spots for Melee, Ranged, and Mage?

Friend said that Black Demons (something like that) are good for ranged, but I have no idea as to where they are, lol.

Also, what about fletching, and theiving? These two seem interesting both here on the forums, and when I read their guides. Any advice on how and where to train them up?

For ranged, there is a variety of monsters you can use if their is a safespot. I recommend this great safespot guide written by Fubai:

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=373 ... t=safespot

For training theiving, train on men/women until level 5. Then move onto the enxt thing up and keep working your way up the tables. The Feud quest is a good way to get some free exp as well.

For fletching, it is the same principle as thieving. Start with arrow shafts and carry on with the best exp possible.

fletching is my favourite money maker i would reccomend buying a 1000 or so logs (and oak ones ) while your still in f2p so when you come over to p2p you can start lvl it up instead of looking for logs

theiving, youll be starting on men and woman and they will give you a slap if they catch you robbing them lol

ADD ME IF YA LIKE rsn is down there VVVVVVVVV

I am still checking out htat post about the safe spots, and it seems that I will be going to do it on the Fire Giants, or the Black Demons. Thanks SirHartlar for the link!

No problem

The waterfall quest is worth doing, as it does gain you access to a good supply of fire giants.

When you get 43 prayer, you should definitely consider doing Monkey Madness. If supply yourself with the correct equipment, you can do it quite easily if you keep a level head.

I should have thought of a thread like this when I became members a few days ago... Anyway heres a list of quests to do:

Lost City (just mage the thing, I used fire blast, you could either level mage a bit or use earth blast) and there are plenty of mushrooms in the room to hide behind

Priest in Peril

Plague City

Biohazard

Tourist Trap (optional, gives 4.6k exp in 2 stats, including possibly thieving, agility, and fletching, great for getting a good head start)

Recruiment Drive gives OK experience in some members stats, as well as allowing you to get useful high-prayer-bonus armor. Wanted! gives a pretty nice 5k slayer exp, useful for getting started, but beware: you will use up a lot of teleports doing it if you want to do it fast.

If you plan to do Wanted!, you will probably have to do The Lost Tribe, as one of the clues is in the tribe's cave. Lost Tribe is pretty good to do anyway since you get some emotes (although they're pretty lame LOL) and gain access to a great mining area if you have gotten far enough in Recipe for Disaster (thats another good quest to work on) to use the Culiomancer's chest as a bank.

AFTER 43 prayer

The Grand Tree (great exp, opens up gnome gliders for quick transportation)

Tree Gnome Village (^^^, only with spirit trees)

I myself am currently working on Monkey Madness and getting DESTROYED.

I have used up 20 lobsters, several antipoisons, and only gotten as far as escaping the jail. I haven't even gotten to Garkor yet. BTW the puzzle you have to solve to unlock the military gliders is hard until you get the right method, and its reset if you log out.

On a sidenote, (not meaning to hijack) would I be better off waiting until I finish Monkey Madness to buy a dragon scimmy, or should I just go ahead and buy a dragon longsword since I've done Lost City? Which weapon is better? Scimmy's are faster, and prove you have done a harder quest, but long's have slightly higher stats and a better special... unless you pk (which I dont)

Okay, here we go:

Fletching: Go to the Castle Wars mini-game and cut normal logs there. There is a bank inside the castle, so you can deposit it all there. Get 1k-2k logs in there, then get a knife and start making arrow shafts. you should have around 40k-50k arrow shafts, I'm not sure aobut this, and you should have a pretty high fletching level. Also, there are a few willows there, so if you happen to get to the level tgo make willow longs, then do that.

Theiving: As said, start on men and women in Lumbridge, preferably. When you get to farmers, go straight to the crossroads north of Lumbridge and pickpocket the farmer there. When you get to, 15 is it? You can start on HAM members. Right when you get to 25, head to East Ardougne and steal from warrior women. Now, I never tried HAM members, so Im not sure on this, but warrior woemn do 2 damage if they catch you. In the east gate of Ardougne, there are 2 cake stands, so steal from them and eat up. Then continue with the Warrior Women.

Note: The best spot (IMO) is in the castle near the center of Ardougne, in one of the walls.

For quests while your in Ardougne, I suggest the Plague City quest, it gets you a easy 3.1 k, but it can be difficult. You really need speed and strategy for this one.

Agility: Raise this one high, you need it. Go to the Gnome Stronghold and start the Agility Course. This should get your Agility up quite a few levels. If your range is good, then try the Gnomeball to the northwest. Agility course is to Southwest.

Thanks Nalestom!

Okay, I really want my fletching to be my first good members stat. This is how I will do it (thanks to tip.its fletching calc)!

1500 arrow shafts

75 strung short bows

180 strung long bow

300 strung short oaks

200 strung long oaks

250 strung short willows

750 strung long willows

750 strung short maples

2,400 strung long maples

2,200 strung short yews

8,500 strung long yews

14,305 flax spun

This will get me:

82 woodcutting

80 fletching

60 crafting

54 runecrafting

71 magic (minimum)

Also, I will not do this continuously, I will take breaks in which I will get some Thieving, Agility, Herblore, and Construction lvls. I plan to leave farming at 1 for as long as possible :D .

Tell me if you think that these goals are realistic, and also help me to straiten (sp?) things out math wise (I never was good at that). Thanks!
