woopidoo2
After alot of posts at the old photography thread, it couldnt keep itself alive. I was thinking of a new approach, every photographer tells something about him/herself. greenslime89
Hm, First question I guess. How do you shoot in 'Raw'? I've yet to discover this :-$ It's a Canon EOS 400D you use? Go to the menu and then go to "Quality". There will now be various options, There are RAW options so select the one that says "RAW" not any of the others unless you want to have a RAW file and a processed JPEG of the same shot. This would fill up your card faster. Remember though, RAW files are larger than JPEGs so invest in bigger cards! Photos!

With RAW there will be no compression that occurs with JPEG's, it'll just give you a more detailed shot, they're better for printing. I'm not sure about the actual size of pixels, it may make the photo physically larger too. Some cameras dont let you shoot JPEGs and RAWs together, but I think your camera can handle it. Your one will too. :D On a small side note: you'll need a RAW file converter to convert them into JPEG. Your camera should have been bundled with DDP. If you don't have that then you might want to try Pixmantec's fine RAW converter: Download link (Download.com) Photos! woopidoo2
(Not relating to the school discussion above) I have discovered my fathers Canon EOS 1000F, pretty good analog camera. Im sort of teaching myself the basics, for when I get my own camera. EDIT: Picture: The whole camera bag includes: Camera body, Canon zoom lens EF 28-80 (Kitlens) Canon zoom lens EF 80-200 (He bought it in Russia) A UV filer (Dont really know the use of it) Old user manual, And I found a Macro Close up Filter today! :) Tried it right away, really useful. Im quite lucky, I can use all this for my Canon EOS 350D. My father said that he still has an old film I can use on this analog camera, Ill show what the results are :) [http://woopidoo2.deviantart.com][Tip.it Moderator from Dec 10, 2006 to 03 Sep, 2008]

Although, I use the schools, So equipment and chemicals might prove expensive. Using that old lens though will greatly reduce quality though? It shouldn't do... It's an EOS lens so it should work fine and the EF mount is good for when you upgrade. However, the lens might not be of great quality its self but older lenses are not necessarily worse than newer lenses. The great thing is, that if its a good lens, you can use it on a full frame camera such as the EOS 5D or 1D The reason I say its an EOS lens is because Canon changed their mount from FD to EOS (EF) lenses.
