Books?

Featured Replies

I'm an avid reader. I just finished a new book and wanted to tell everyone about it. Boom! I just post it on the Book Forum!

I think it would be a good idea to add books to the music, movies, and television forum.

Not enough book topics, which is actually an advantage for you because your topic would get more attention where it'd belong now, Off Topic. :) Also there's been a few book topics you could search and bump for discussion if you want.

I hate to dredge this up out of the bowels of the forum... but I really, really support this idea!

As it stands now, I know of one book topic, and it consistently gets bumped down in Off Topic.

I've just been talking to a few people in a clan chat in-game, and several of them were also in support of adding in a Books sub-forum to Off Topic. (Tagging it onto Music, Movies, TV would work, IMO.)

While there may not be THAT much discussion about books, I really do think several users would appreciate it.

Just my two cents.

I think this might be a nice addition. Normally it was always "No" or "Not needed" or "Not enough discussion on the topic as it is" with suggestions like these. Lately we have been giving them a go and they've all turned out pretty well. I see no harm in giving this one a shot. If it flops it can always be removed.

I was under the impression that is where book topics already go. More of an 'entertainment' forum.

Right now there's just a "What are you reading" thread in Off-Topic where all book discussions go. I've never seen any book-related threads posted in or moved to the Music, Movies, & TV forum ;o

If the people speak it could very well happen, but I don't see the demand as much as i did with other forums.

"Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."

Abraham Lincoln

Lol wow.. 5 replies in 3 years, amazing.. But that's besides the point. I actually do support this, I'm not a huge reader, but whenever I come to tif I don't do much. Everything is Runescape related and I don't always want to talk about Runescape. This could be a new "escape" from Runescape, an expansion on the Off-Topic stuff. So yeah, I like the idea. :D

I thought I replied to this yesterday, I guess I didn't. I would love a subforum. But once again, like the question about machinma (sp), I think such a subforum would belong in the Varrock Library; at one point we had a thread for discussion of books we had recently read, it's stickyed but not many post there frequently.

But I completely support this.
