I think its a little late for that :? More likely, someone should probably go through the local paper where he lives. I'm waiting for my mind to get back up to speed so I can do some last minute math. I hate the online system my calc is using. I can't see the questions until I start it up, and then I get an hour to answer everything,. which effectively turns all my homework into timed quizzes. And while this is wonderful in that I arguably perform better under pressure, and I certainly work faster, and I even like a good test every now and then, I'd actually rather be able to feel like I can take the time to work through my work and make sure I understand what I am doing.

Eggs has not been around here for a while. I didn't think any flowers could live in a vase in for months. I've seen some rosebuds make it through a few weeks though. I find a lot of flowers start to give up after a couple weeks, though I think they might last longer if you cut maybe a half inch off the bottom of the stem (diagonally) every week, to remove anything that might start dying and prevent the flower from getting water and food.

Bronies: Love it or Hate it?
So I don't actually know any bronies, or if I do, they're not talking. Quite frankly, I don't care what people watch in their free time and I would be a huge hypocrite if I did seeing as I started watching yu-gi-oh gx when I was 21 I think, and have also been working my way through all the pokemon. I missed these shows during my childhood, so now I play catchup in between american dad, stargate and the big bang theory. I'll admit that I find the concept of grown men liking a show about rainbow ponies more than a little odd, but I also think that it is a wonderful thing that a grown man, or even better a teenage male can profess their love of rainbow ponies and not get punched 'until it causes hydrogen fusion'. When I was growing up, a girl could like the same toys, play the same games, and watch the same shows as the boys (itself an improvement over my parents generation), but it sure didn't work the other way. And I think for those of us here who just think it's really weird/creepy as all get out, consider this your preview of being and old person. The world is going to change a lot as you get older, and things are going to be strange and weird even before you become senile. So you can either learn to accept change now, or you can become a grumpy old man before your 30. That's the way I see it.

The only problem with cracking your knuckles all the time is that it makes some people cringe, especially if your doing it all the time. On a related note, I've only ever cracked a knuckly once and it hurt like mad (I didn't mean to do it either). I do however need to crack my neck every once in a while to work kinks out of it. On a somewhat related note, now that I am thinking about it. My jaw, left knee, and left ankle have all experienced temporary locks, and when overcome by force they make a nice snapping sound (my knee had one loud enough I thought something broke once). My jaw was the first to ever experience it, and would be unable to open more than maybe halfway if that. That hasn't happened in years though, and neither has my knee. My ankle still gets a minor blockage every now and then, but nothing that is hard ot get rid of by flexing a couple times.

For clairification, I feel old when I try to stay up all night because my body can't do that anymore. I shall never beat my standing personal record of ~60 hours (3 days and 2 nights), since I now top out at about 20 hours. On the other hand, even as my body has settled into adulthood, my mind has continues to refine itself.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Yay. But I think since my interest in Skyrim is pretty low right now, I will wait and see what the modding community can turn it into before I decide to spring for it. I am very excited/anxious to see what the modding community can do with though. I am hoping the community can remove some of the limitations on your creativity, and greatly expand on what you can build. I'd really like to build some sort of ridiculously awesome manor or a castle or something like that.

I love how if you miss a class, your next assignment in that subject will be all about that class you missed (paradoxically, this will hold true for everyone in the subject at the same time, no matter which class people missed). We had a different calc teacher yesterday, and wow am I glad I picked the prof I normally have. She wasn't a bad teacher, but not as good as our normal person. Given that my math skills are currently a patchwork of various subjects (as in, I have holes in my knowledge where I forgot stuff after not using it for too long), I'd like to keep the professor who is a really good teacher for as long as I can. And math is a bad subject to have holes in. I really need to brush up on my trig and log functions since I never had the best handle on them to begin with. I also have another calc tutorial today, which comes with a little quiz question. The fact that this makes me nervous is a nice wake up call that I should really do some more practice, since it means I am not confident that I am going to know what I am doing, and I'd just as soon not rely on my improvisational math skills today.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
This. It's like rediscovering a piece of my childhood, and it might be the last thing I remember but can't place, with the exception of a TV show I used to absolutely love when I was in primary (when I was 4), which I have found once since, and promptly forgotten the name of again (it has an incredibly long title, and I think its about a bear or something, a catapillar, and a human inventor, and there are a bunch of crystals that can do things like shrink you. Also a guy who keeps trying to hit them with a cannon). And B&W2 works just fine on Windows 7, and I imagine the orignal does as well. Normally the only games that are prone to not working we designed before Windows XP or Windows 95 (Myst [original] and Star Wars: Dark Forces being examples of each of those). Also, having gotten through all the B&W LP's and finding none by other people that I really like, I've moved on to The Guild:2, and while I don't have the game, it is certainly possible that I might get it in time. Watching these LP's is getting a little dangerous, but I seem to be determined to devour as many minutes of them as possible to make up for never having watched them till now. Don't know what I am going to do once I have seen this guys entire library (or all the ones I like, some of them I don't care for). I have one other guy I like, but not as much. That said, he might do a Baldur's Gate one and I would be all over that.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I believe my standing opinion on this (yes I'm not sure. It's 1am, give me a break) is that you can't get anyplace if you never get up to bat. There are also some things to be said for being aware of where you are in the social food chain, but not running for the hills if someone higher up that you tries to initiate something.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
After just short of a deckade, I finally know what that 'god game' was that my brothers friend was playing that one time when I was at his house. All I really remember about it was he would toss fireballs onto a nearby village, and then put the fires out with rain, he had people worshiping him to give him godly power, and that he was trying to make the next village over believe in him. Anyway, the game was Black and White, and oddly enough I have no recollection of creatures which are a huge part of that of game. I stumbled upon it by chance (an LP of it from the same guy I've been watching do DayZ and FTL), and recognized it as the same game. I know have B&W2, which is quote similar, and the changes all seem to suit how I play games to make it more fun for me. Absolutely fantastic games. If you really want to train your pet in a more authentic manner though, you need to play B&W 1. The second makes it very easy to train your creature to be exactly what you want, which can be nice for gameplay, but the first game has an incredibly amazing learning AI that can be trained much like a real creature (this would be what they were going for). I'm not sure if anyone has yet built a better AI system for that, at least not in the game universe.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
There was a time when the young feared the less young. I'm not sure why that changed, but it seems to be something my generation did wrong. When I was little, you didn't mess with the big kids. Maybe we we're too nice, maybe we just payed too much attention, or maybe the newer generations are just bolder. On the other hand, I wouldn't consider being bolder to be an all bad thing. It goes over better when you can be bold without being rude. And my BF has the same problem as you SaqPrets, though he's only a bit over 6 (kids who are too short for him to see properly without looking down).

01 Oct, 2012 - Behind the Scenes October
Turning some of my gear into cosmetic overrides might get me, depending on how much I am looking for for an entire set. Once EoC hits my main armour will be relegated to a cosmetic role, and I'd rather keep that look rather than turning into literally everyone else in full bandos. It would also be nice since I like the armour to skill in, but it is too heavy to be viable a lot of the time. Always up for a new quest too, and glad to see that they will finally add the dragon kite kits. Someday...

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
DayZ Got it a few days ago after watching, and continuing to watch, far to many let's say plays for it (which I only started watching because of ftl). I both love and hate it. It's a hard and often slow game, and you die more often than is healthy (though on my 4th characters I am beating the average which is 27 minutes, or so I hear). I have currently lucked into being extremely well armed, more so than most bandits thanks to having the second best sniper rifle you can get (effective range of 1200m, 400+ more than every other gun except for one, which can shoot at 1600m). I am currently trying to find one or two people to play with who aren't going to shoot me to help extend all our lives.

FTL - Faster Than Light
I find that knocking out the O2 system is mostly useful for keeping the crew busy. To actually keep it down long enough to kill the crew would take a lot of sustained fire, and against the boss, top notch defenses. Still, it's an interesting approach, and just might be crazy enough to work (with the right weapons ). I've managed to luck my way into a few ships now. I've fallen in love with telepoters. It's a good way to take out the boss weapons as well, sine the weapons rooms are isolated. If you have 4 shields, take down their missile and then ion and you 100% safe on the first two forms I think (even 3 shields will work, though you'll want decent evade to make sure one is always up against the second form)

TMHT Armadyl Event - Saturday Sept. 29th - 4pm EDT / 8pm GMT / 9pm BST
Nice of the game to throw some loot at the last men standing, and that looks like a pretty good haul, though I would expect no less from six hours worth of kills.

Today...
I've always wanted to write a story in my spare time, but I normally draw my inspiration from the games I play, and I generally focus on one game at a time for a week or two and then switch, which is not ideal for story writing since the mood only takes me every couple weeks anyway. I might have finally though up an idea that might work. It's partly inspired by a game (dayz), but I've been having a lot of fun working up a backstory and universe that actually matches what I have been trying to achieve. My problems are that I like to draw inspirations from games I play (like suing my own life experience, if I lived in a computer game), and I normally switch main games every week or two. I think I have one now that will never be my main game, and is suitable for giving me ideas. It also helps that I apparently have a universe and story in my head mostly construed that could make use of the game. My other problem is that I get bored while writing the filler parts. I think rather than write a solid conventional story, I might wright myself a series of short stories that take place one after the other, which gives me the freedom to focus on the part of the story I enjoy, and also gives me some freedom to write from multiple perspectives, possibly for the same event. In fact, if I keep the over story on the shorter side, I might be able to write it twice. Once for each main character and tell the story as each of them sees it. I could have some fun with differing perspectives. Or maybe I would only do certain stories over for the other main. Who knows.

Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+
I could get on board 120 levels, but only if the purpose is to add a broader scale in which to add content, or to extend content beyond the current scale. For a skill like construction where almost every level gives you something new (if only all skills were like this), and many levels give you 3-5 new new things to build, you could increase the cap to 120 or even 150 (because it is so full), and rescale when people get certain things. (and more on the ridiculous thought of a max at 150 which would put the max time at several decades) For a skill like smithing, progress has made it entirely obsolete pretty much past steel, and its only useful even then if you just really want to make your own stuff. Past that, it is almost certain you could gain your equipment many times faster by just doing profitable activities and buying it. Smithing also has the problem where they clearly ran out of levels, because level 99 gives you like 15 new smithable items, that stopped being useful to you back at combat level 80, if even that far. Smithing could benefit from some leveling, so that each tier is grouped tighter together so that some of the stuff can be shuffled down, and leave more top end room for much needed expansion (if Jagex were to decide that high end equpiment should be gainable from more than just loot, or if they create another worthy use for the smithing skill like repairing that high end equipment). But if your rescaling the skills up to higher caps, then you need to rescale the skill itself so that say a skill at 120 does not actually require over a year to complete for the average joe. Dungeoneering did this with an xp curve. Past 99 the xp rate is massive, which is why 120 dungeoneering is obtainable in less time than several other skills getting to 99. The problem with just blasting the caps up to 120 and calling it a day is market. WoW already proved that they couldn't sustain themselves on a game that focuses on grinding, and they did it years ago. Now, RuneScape can afford to be more grindy because the actual playerbase is a lot smaller, so proportionally there are more grind style players available. But we have already been seeing a massive trend to provide alternatives to grinding, because players who enjoy a grinding game are a quickly dying breed, and a game that relies on them now is doomed. This is the reality of cultural change over time. If you made all skills 120, your best bet would probably be to redo the entire xp curve and set 120 at about 102 on the current scale (and obviously dungeoneering xp rates would need to be massively tweaked to match). Alternatively, you put in the 120 level cap as is, but don't add any useful content past 99 at all, and leave the last 21 levels as boasting rights, with maybe some cosmetic gains (though since the table already sorts by xp, this would be pretty much wasted time). Anything else and your catering to your few hard core players at the expense of your majority base.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Another fun one. People who don't understand that in a class setting, the back two to 4 rows (depending on room size) are reserved for people who will explode if they go 5 minutes without carrying on a conversation, and that the front 2 to 4 rows (again, depending on room size) are for people who only open their mouths to ask a question. Most seem to get the concept that the more you need to talk, the further back you sit, but it only takes a couple to ruin the system for like 15 other people (this would be a class of 200). I also find it telling that almost all questions either come from rows 1 and 2, or from the back third of the room (where all the talkers are). The front makes sense. The people who like to ask a lot of questions normally sit right at the front, it gives a clear line of communication, and you don't have to see everyone glaring at you for asking endless questions. The back third also makes sense because that's where you get people who look up during a lull in their conversation and realize they don't have a flying fart of a clue what is going on.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
I didn't know ad block worked on youtube vids. Guess that's why I haven't seen one on my pc in forever. Being back at school I am running into all kinds of people who don't know how to walk/use a sidewalk. New variations I have discovered include people who are afraid that prolonged close proximity will cause them to get stuck in each others gravitational pull, and so they spread apart whenever there would be enough room to get around them without pretty much walking on the road. The worst though are groups of 3 that expand specifically to block you, and then make less than no effort to not walk into you. You make a move to pass them on either side, and suddenly the people on the sides just move away from the person in the centre and the one on the side your on will match you pace for pace until their either walk into you (this has actually happened), or you essentially lunge into a nearby bush until they walk by. I have never encountered people who actively expand to block you who can also see you coming (normally people only do it when your behind them). EDIT: Reading cracked has informed me that this is some sort of stealth version of the '94 knicks form of walking (a group who knows their about to run into you and like it). Stealth becuase I don't know I have encountered this type of person until the group starts expanding to block my progress. And of course the ever classic stopping to talk to someone who is standing/sitting beside the sidewalk. Alright, you don't want to stand on their lap, I get that, but the line between you and the person your talking to actually doesn't need to be perpendicular to the direction of local travel. You actually can stand off to the side of where everyone is walking while still being a few feet from whoever your talking to. EDIT2: Apparently I am a Dominique Wilkins (someone who weaves through an intense crown but no foresight).

Heh, my best costume ever was as a knight. Problem with that is that I literally can not get the breast plate on and off myself, because I don't have two elbows in each arm, and the armour itself restricts the movement you need to buckle it up. I could always get someone to help me, but the entire thing is a gigantic pain in the ass. It looks ridiculously awesome though. I had a lot of fun with that one in the schools haunted house, pretending to be a dummy. I think my grim reaper costume gets the most use, because being the grim reaper is awesome. It does have the serious drawback that I can't actually drink anything with the hood on though. I was a pirate last year because why not, but I might see if I can think up something else this year. I might actually go for the armour again this year. I haven't used it in a while, and it's quite good. I do need to get the gauntlets stitched back together though, some of the seams in the leather let go. I also need to sort something out for the helmet, or just not wear it, because it is redicously large, and if I wear it without any padding it tilts forward so that the eyes are around my nose.
