I was muted!
That would actually be the auto mute filter, which Jagex kindly designed to look exactly like pmod mutes because they we're having trouble generating enough bad press on their own, and really needed the help. They also make it really hard to know the system actually exists unless you already know about it, because the first step in getting people to stop saying certain things is to make sure you never tell them what they did wrong (to complete it's mimicry of a pmod mute, it doesn't supply evidence). There was a problem a while back with players tricking other players into saying the name of that site to get them muted by the filter.

2012 U.S. Elections - President Obama Re-elected
I think I'd prefer Obama to Harper. It will be bad enough for an overhaul when the people rise up and seize power by force, because that is probably the only way it will ever happen. I am going to guess that since the founding fathers went out of their way to create a democratic system without the power of an actual democracy, that they probably installed some kind of legal barrier to government reform, though I'm not sure about electoral reform. Besides, you can have as many parties as you want (that isn't something that needs changing), you just don't vote for them. You can't exactly legislate that (at least not if you want to be democratic about it). If you ask me, you need to change your system to acknowledge air travel. There is no reason it still needs to take 6 months, because the candidates no longer visit every state by horse.

what should i do to keep interested in the game
A question for your question. Why do you want to play RuneScape in your spare time if your not enjoying it? For most people, any game is going to get boring after a while, so it can be good to try something else for a while until your ready to play, say RuneScape, again. Howvever, if you really do want to spend the time on RuneScape, then I would go with hlpmee's idea. You get 5 tasks (1 per day, they last for 5, so 5 at a time), try doing those to start. It will change things up if nothing else.

2012 U.S. Elections - President Obama Re-elected
If I were a betting person, my money would be on Obama winning the popular vote and presidency both. It should be close, but I don't really have any doubts anymore that Obama is going to win. Thinking 52-54% for Obama.

I feel like you should maybe back up a little bit in your story. Go back to the part where your bf got a hook stuck in his hand? Last night I got to go to a society event held in the universities faculty building. It's a spectacular building (we were in the ballroom), and the event itself was a lot of fun (not my society, I was the date), and the event itself was quite fun. I feel like the music we had going after dinner was probably not the norm for that building though  And I discovered the show Community, which might have stolen top spot on my favorite comedy list. It is essentially a comedy making fun of comedies (it uses a lot of meta humor), and I'm enhoying something that is totally rediculous for a change. Also, if I watch anything but comedy the movie 'Event Horizon' starts coming back (not the right kind of movie for 2am).

I know in Vista certain areas required you to change ownership from the system to the administrator before they could be deleted. I have yet to have this problem on Windows 7, but I imagine it is the same thing. You need to change ownership. I also expect that Windows 7 is more inclined to actually let you do this (this was my largest issue with Vista, was how difficult it was to actually get the ownership to change). Today might be the day I upgrade my windows 7 to...a better version of Windows 7. I think for now I'll keep it 7 for my day to day operating system. I think I might try 8 as a virtual machine though, to see how it works. I've been putting off the upgrade because I hate to lose my computer for a couple hours while it does this, so I guess I should burn a couple DVD's first or something.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
This is very annoying. Popcorn is the main offender for me. Sometimes its hard to tell which teeth its even stuck in.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Rule Number 1: Once drunk, your phone is to be used only to call for rides. Texting is now a capital offence, and posting on any web forum, facebook, twiiter, etc, is just a terrible idea. My point is that drunk people using electronic communication have about the same romantic appeal as someone who is actively trying to light you on fire. There are a couple people who will like it, and no one will ever forget it.

Behind the Scenes - November
I've only ever found one person who I could dunge with for extended periods of time, and unfortunately I never hear form them anymore. The key to our success together was Skype. There was no limit on how long we could talk to each other (we had 5+ hour conversations multiple times), and neither of us wanted to be in a rushed frenzy. We'd get our goal when we got it, and we didn't sit back, but there was no fire under our butts either. We also shared a common hatred of the skill itself, and we did it as a pair to egg each other on, because neither of us would have gotten chaotics without the other. My problem with most people is that training dungeoneering frustrates me. I don't want to be there, and after an hour or two it will really start to show against most people. As a result, if I team, I prefer a duo, and only with people I know that I am not going to get frustrated with (there are actually two other people I know for sure I could dunge with, but they vastly out level me), and I have no cause to train the skill.

And I thought I had weird dreams... The cold isn't all that bad, it's the wind that gets you, so the wind chill ends up being way more important than the temperature. Looking at Canada's wind chill index, human flesh can withstand up to at least -25 (this is windchill, not actual temperature) without freezing (freezing is bad). -28 to -39 can freeze your skin in 10-30 mintues. Starting at -40 skin freezes in 10 minutes or less, particularly in sustained high winds, and things beocme officiall hazardous at -55, where exposed skin will freeze in less than 2 minutes. Take a look here. The true perk of living in cold places has to be ice and ski hills though I think (unless you live in Hawaii in which case you can go skiing in the morning and swim at the beach on the ocean in the afternoon, because Hawaii is perfect). I would not however want an Ontarian winter (or an Ontarian summer). They do get wind chills into the 40's and 50's at times, and in the summer they get into the high 30's, neither of which are states I like.

Behind the Scenes - November
I hope 5x tears of guthix is better than it sounds like, because my recolection is that at around 70 the mini game stops being worth the time of day. I wouldn't mind it being relevant again, so I want to see where this goes. I also like any quest that will expand upon the story of the Wizard Tower. I've been waiting for that story line for a very long time. Lastly the new make x could be interesting. Of all the items on that list, this is the update I stand to get the most out of, so this one interests me the most. The other stuff is interesting I suppose, but of little relevance to me. It is nice to know however that should I ever go insane and decide I like dungeoneering again, that I will be doing more than the training equivalent of banging my head on a wall. Kind of upset that it has taken...two years? to get around to this though. I actually did used to dungeoneer, and I really could have used something like this (to date I have completed maybe ten 5 man dungeons, for the same reason I have never been tempted to play WoW). Solomans store has caught my eye as well. There is an outfit that could use that treatment, but quite frankly I'm hardly willing to spend a penny on it. I have another option that costs nothing.

[Steam] Kerbal Space Program - Update 0.22: Career Mode!
Starting to get back into this game after a bit of a break. I am trying to construct a ship to go to jool, and hopefully it's next version will be able to make it back, but I don't think this one will have that capacity. Think I'll give it landing legs, and it can try to land on one of the moons. The main stage (covers ascent and original orbit, and might be able to cover some of the leaving Kerbin SOI) is 3 tanks high asparagus setup on the 2m parts (one center, 6 radial stacks). Next up is 3 2 tank stacks of 1m parts, with 3 nuclear engines, topped off by a full 1m tank with a small engine. The command pod has 3 ejector engines for emergencies. I've been having some trouble getting the radial stacks to drop without hitting the craft. Specifically a couple are prone to hitting an engine as they leave, and naturally the rocket can't fly without symmetrical thrust. I have added ejector engines (4 per stack) to the first two radial pairs to disengage, and for the most part that worked. It got me into orbit, where my remaining main engine promptly tried to snap my rocket in half by bending it, and I have now added extra bracing which might allow it to withstand it's own engine at maximum thrust. On the way up to test my bracing, all is going well. The first pair jetession without a hitch and all is well. Next up is the loss of the second pair of radial stacks, which are ditched shortly before the roll over to enter orbit. This time, the stacks did not separate properly. It almost looked like one or more ejectors failed. One of the 3 remaining main engines is taken out by the departing stack, causing the rocket to start to tilt, and I immediately cut engine power to avoid an uncontrolled spin. Well, cutting the engines so quickly was nearly a fatal mistake. I was so fast that the ejected stacks and my rocket we're moving at pretty much the exact same vertical speed, which means I now have a rocket still at full length, with 2 very large objects drifting right beside it. Without engines, I can't escape. I also admit I kind of froze up in awe of what was happening. This situation is the sort of thing I added the espape rockets for, though I will admit it takes a while to fire them since we don't have the escape feature yet (they have talked about adding an ability to skip to the last stage/an escape stage for emergencies). However, in the end we only came within 7m of dying (guistimate of distance between tricouper and command pod), and that's called awesome.

I suddenly realize that I have forgotten that bluetooth keyboards are a thing. Wow. Kind of forgot about that. I can't say I care if Disney owns Lucas arts outright. It's not like Lucas Arts has ever been going easy on the mechanizing the ever loving bejesus out of Star Wars, so it's not like that's going to get more intense. Disney has money to burn, and they already have Star Wars licenses of their own (seeing as they have had a Star Wars ride for more than a decade), so maybe they will be able to do something with it. Well, obviously they have ideas for it or they wouldn't have bought them, since I'm sure that wasn't cheep (probably cost like, a whole months worth of fireworks ). I could go with Halloween being always on a Friday I suppose, mostly for the kids. As far as University life goes, it doesn't really matter. The Halloween parties started last Friday or Saturday.

I'm pretty sure you can't move Halloween. At best, you can duplicate/extend it. Doing my computer assignment. Thought this would be easy. Very glad I checked my programs math by hand, and am now in the process of writting in debug code to figure out why it can't do math. It also occurred to me that the marker probably has a simpler version of the program we are writting that can do the math portion to make sure our programs aren't being stupid. This is going to be a slightly longer night than I had hopped. EDIT: Or it could just be me that can't do math. Program is giving the correct results, though the debug code would indicate that it is using black magic to do it (the debug is indicating that it actually skips a step, then incorporates that step into the next one). Of course, if my debug skills are as good as my math skills, I might have found the problem :wall: Lets hope it handles the other cases as well as it does this one. EDIT2: yeah, I was the problem with the debug. Program works like a dream.

Minecraft General
My largest underground fortress has a part that runs over one of these, except the bottom of it is all lava. I discovered it while adding a lower floor beneath a hallway, and had to install a new floor over a small section to make it work. I think at that point it would have to be about 45 blocks deep. I think if I ever build another tower (I'm sure it will happen someday), I might stick it over one of these and leave it largely hollow, so that I can look down from the top of the world, and see the bottom. I think that would be kind of neat, especially since they made the world taller at some point. Of course, I had a hard enough time building a tower to the old height. Something twice as tall will need some planning.

2012 U.S. Elections - President Obama Re-elected
Just a thought. We elect our leaders to represent our interests and make choices on our behalf. The theory behind it would seem to be that we chose our leader, but once they are our leader, then they are in charge. They don't report to the voters until next election season. So if a president lies to make something happen, to drum up support for something they feel needs to be done, is that actually wrong? It's a given that they are not going to have the same information that the public does, and the public will never have all the information because making certain information public is incredibly dangerous (there are things you don't want other nations to know). So if they are in a position where they feel something is the right thing to do, but cant make the information that would cause people to support that action public, then you end up in a situation where for your elected leader to do what they believe is best, they would have to lie to generate the support they need (because even if they don't directly report to the voters instant to instant, it is a very bad thing to be have a country doing something that the country doesn't want to do). And of course there are going to be actual scandals, where there is self interest, or just trying to save face, or whatever. Maybe your president just really hated a country and wanted to burn it to the ground, maybe they had actual reason to believe it was something that really did need to happen. My point, if I have one, is that whether or not your leader lies to the population is not nearly as important as why they lie.

The practical difference is really a bigger screen I'd say, and a bit more room for more powerful hardware and a larger battery if you like (though in reality, the larger battery probably gives you less life because of the much higher power demands of the larger screen). Also, if you have a keyboard for a tablet that isn't painful to use (I've never used any of them, so I have no opinion on this), then you have increased portability and lifespan in a tablet for similar performance to a netbook. Laptops will still hold the advantage in gaming and versatility by virtue of their more powerful electrical supply (to drive more powerful hardware), and their compatability (a traditional OS that can run pretty much any program). Actually, the keyboard situation baffles me. I have a Sony Clie (palm pilot) knocking around that has a folding physical keyboard, that when 'deployed' is a full keyboard (no num pad, and has menu buttons). Feels like using a laptop. When it folds up, its the same size as the Clie itself, and a tad thicker (which would make it hardly larger than your phone). This technology is more than a decade old, and I've never seen it since. Sort of surprised that I haven't seen this sort of thing for a tablet. The development and production costs would be pretty minimal, and it would be a nice option for people to have. Or maybe I am one of the rare people who can't stand typing anything longer than a short paragraph on a keyboard I can't feel. Pictured: Not rocket science And yesterday I beat Mass Effect 2. I think I'll go back, beat ME1 again, and then use that for another round of ME2 perhaps, though I was actually quite thorough in ME2, and I don't particularly want to play a different way through that game. I missed a lot in ME1 though because I was rushing for some reason, and I'd like to see what changes, if any, that makes on the next game, and there are some things I might do differently in ME2. I think I might choose a different bonus weapon, since I ended up never using the one I took, and I might change some of the stuff in the final mission. In retrospect, I'm not entirely happy with the choices I made, even though I was able to accurately predict the consequences. Still not sure. I was very pleased with the ME2 ending though. I did pretty much exactly what I wanted to do (flip him the bird and claim the ship as my own).

Well Known RWT'rs banned.
(Always like to make these posts of their own...) A reminder to keep things on topic please. Individuals and clan's are not on trial here. Please keep discussion to the RWT, in particular such topics as the effect on the game, as well as the morals and ethics regarding this issue. Most of you are doing a great job of keeping discussion of such a hot topic civil, and it is much appreciated. It is a pleasure to be able to host these kinds of debates without it turning into a bar brawl :) So please, everyone remember that this is what makes this place great, and remember to keep a cool head, and do not make things personal. People are entitled to believe what they want to believe, and as long as what they believe doesn't break our rules, they are free to share.

Ah I see, your saying that the selling gold doesn't do anything. But your also invoking a fallacy that what is true for the individual must be true for the whole. Think about something for a second. What would happen if players all stopped selling any gold to the sellers? To help with that, ask why the sellers would buy gold from the players in the first place. How many people stop to think about that. Gold farmer gold isn't free. It's not free to run the bots, and it's not free to have people take care of them. Even if most of the operators are in a sweatshop in China, someone has to be making real money or it wouldn't be happening (probably a few someones, since you would need more than 1 boss and a whole whack of workers). They probably set their buying price a bit under what the bot gold costs them. From that, it follows that if the player supply were to dry up completely, the price of gold sold would have to rise by some amount to compensate for the higher costs. This is turn would lead to less gold being sold, which would require fewer bots. If demand is constant, than the increased price will reduce quantity demanded. There will be fewer bots needed to meet demand, and less gold flowing into the high end item and training markets, which reduces the impact on the game itself. No, one person doesn't make any significant difference. It's hundreds or thousands of people who think that, or simply don't care, that make a difference.

Windows are scary stuff
In the summer, I have a tower fan that I aim at my bed to compensate for the how hot the room gets. At times, I'll actually put the fan right at the foot of the bed. I remember waking up one right with it down at the foot of my bed, off to one side a bit (better airflow), and it's shiloette merged with something else behind it, and for a very brief second my brain identified it as a person. That was a heart stopper for sure, and I my body was already starting to leap out of bed when I figured out what I was looking at. The 'whoa, false alarm' signal got through just as I was trying to yell, and I still managed to let out a quiet one.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I guess what you really need to do Noxx is think this through some more, but also think about how you are going to look back on this once you move. If you pursue a relationship, there are four possible outcomes, only two of which I believe are realistic: Option 1: You and her date, it goes well, and she moves back with you. Option 2: You and her date, it goes well, and you stay in the states with her. Option 3: You and her date, it goes well, and you move back home without her with memories of your time together. Option 4: You and her date, it goes bad, and you break up before you move back home. You've been holding yourself back for 2 or 3 weeks now right? Are you feeling any better about that or is she on your mind all the time? You are going to be miserable at some point either way. You are going to be sad when you leave her behind when you go home, probably either way, though I would suspect sadder if you and her date. On the other hand, not being with her right now seems to be making you miserable on some level. Going back to what I said about memories, how are you going to look at this 6 months down the road? How about 5 years? At the risk of sounding like a movie, if you decide not to pursue her now, you should be very certain that 5 years down the line you aren't going to look back at this time now and regret not experiencing every moment moment with her that you could, while you still had the chance. Yes, if you two date and are still going strong when you move back home, it is going to suck something awful. But this is something you can get over in time. You have an ex so you might even have an idea of how long that might take. If you end up regretting this later on in life, this is something that could eat you up for the rest of your life. So whatever you choose to do, make certain it is a choice you can live with.

I thought I already supplied the whole 'this effects people' point already. Buying gold for real money messes up the supply by allowing people pay prices that they would not otherwise be willing to pay (above the reservation point). By removing the price barrier and allowing people to pay over the natural market price that would be defined by the economy operating as a closed system (ie, the RuneScape market as it would be without real world trading, with the bots or without, doesn't actually matter for my point) prices will rise to meet the price being offered, and will find a new point of balance higher than than what it should be. This has an effect on every other player buying items in the affected markets by costing them more of their game money, and potentially forcing them to either buy gold themselves (costing them real money), or preventing them from being able to buy goods they would be able to afford if the market were the closed system it is supposed to be. The long and the short of it is that the gold selling causes inflation in the high end markets, but leaves other markets unaffected. Prices go up, but proffits to not. Inflation is not harmful if income and expense rise at similar rates because one compensates for the other (and the being slightly out of sync is why low levels of inflation drive growth in real world economies), but when you have prices going up and income being the same as before, it makes the affected markets more relatively expensive. This is (one of the reasons) why it affects other people.
