The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Well, for now I think I have it sorted. Most of my mods come from two graphical packages, so I just did what I did when I set the original order, and used the order they were in that package (which is the order they come in I think). The other one fit in fairly well with that. Now, I did grab some extras while I was out tracking down my order, so we'll see if it's still stable after that, but it seems to be working. I also cut out a specific mod I was probably never going to use (extra spells, I play as a warrior). So yeah, it might get unstable again once I finish bringing in the last couple mods, but I think I can make it work. If not I'll definitely check out that Wyre Bash. I also may have original confused the nexus program with BOSS. EDIT: Started with BOSS since it seems to be the active one. I have a superfluous mod (included in another), and there are two that are not compaitable with a DLC (one of ecah). For bonus points, I now know what was causing my game to stutter occasionally. I thought it was the sonow mod, but it's actually my sound mods, and removing them might not fix the problem, at least not on this play through, so not particularly pleased about that. I had to get something because I want to use the unofficial patches, and apparently they are quite particular about load order if you use them.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
For some reason I can't comprehend, I touched the load order for my skyrim mods (almost all of which are graphical). I'm not sure what possessed me to do this, other than to slot in a patch for hearthfire where it should go, since they were working just splendid before. It's is also possible that hearthfire and dawnguard might have destabalized my game a bit, so maybe I'm not allowed to run 3 water mods (plus one that makes you drop when you get out of the water) anymore. I even got nexus, which is actually next useless for me. I thought there was like a grand list of ideal load orders and known conflicts, so I kind of expected it to sort the plugins for me. I've got them in the most logical order now from my perspective, and I'm going to go through some of them and eliminate the ones that are doing similar things because I really do have a ridiculous number of graphical mods running. I'm not giving up the aurora mod though.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Y'know, I think I understand why a huge portion of the world hates capitalism so much. For us it's boxing day, your influence is starting to spread. Still, we're Canadians, and Maritimers at that. The only difference is stuff get's cheep and the stores have way too many people in them. It's still pretty calm.

Is this too much power for 1 outlet?
I can't remember if each outlet set is it's own curcuit, or if your allowed to pair them up. I think you can pair them up, but at the very least each socket will typically be the same circuit The exception is the kitchen, and possibly the bathroom, where every socket is independent (and you shouldn't plug kitchen appliances into shared circuits, especially ovens and microwaves). If your not tipping the circuit breaker (make sure that's what you have. If you have a fuse box, make sure it actually has fuses, and threat they aren't ridiculous ratings becomes someone got tired of replacing them. Dimes and pennies are popular as well, and ridiculously dangerous for a couple of reasons), your probably good, as long as the power bar is rated for that king of power. An AC is iffy, you want a good quality extension cord normally, though it's hard to point fingers when I run mine off a cheep as dirt power par (it is alone, though a lamp probably isn't a huge deal). The age of the wiring is only a concern insofar as the original quality of the work, and any rodents who have had the chance to damage it (you'll see that with rats that live in the attic, I think it's uncommon if they live elsewhere).

Noticed the steam sale today, but that's okay, beucase it's the only day that matters. Decided that since dawn guard no longer felt like highway robbery that I'd spring for it, and hearthfire too. Fairly pleased about that.

Today...
In this case our teacher is going to try and break our programs infront of the class. At some point I'll start trying some more adventurous buttons, but it will take anything alphanumeric or punctuation based. All I did was decide I would take all inputs as strings, because I've never been able to mess that up, and this code sorts through the string looking for anything compatible with a specific data type, and filters out everything else that would cause an error. It can also limit the length (#of characters) to that it doesn't accidently say, try to store 40 billion in an integer. I might look at making the length bit a bit more graceful, and just have it check to make sure the value will fit in it's data type before it tries to store it so that I don't need to limit length without reason.

Today I learned why you if you wake up at 4am and can't sleep, you shouldn't work on programming. I've been at it for 7 hours, and while I am very happy with what I have, this has not been as fun a journey as it could have been. I am very happy to have the piece that deals with unexpected answers sorted out. It takes the 'the user is probably stupid' approach. It needs some tuning to provide more useful feedback, but it seems to doing it's job, which is to prevent garbage input from crashing the program. As a bonus, I'll be able to plug this into future projects. It's quite useful, and easy enough to feature creep should the need arise for more complicated functionality.

The Back Room
Is it still attached? Lol, that was my first thought. Sort of reminds me of waking up if you've been sleeping on your arm (and thus cut off all circulation). It just doesn't work until the blood gets flowing again (no feeling, and you can't move it).

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
You might be able to pick up an older smart phone that still works for less than that, and use it to finish your contract off. If you know anyone who's contract is about to expire, see if you cna get their phone. If not, I'm sure plenty of them end up on ebay when peoples contracts expire and they get a new one, so I expect they don't cost too much. You might even be able to get what you have now for a decent price, not sure. If not, at least you'll have a working phone, and with luck your carrier will allow you to program the new phone to take over the plan manually (they normally charge if you bring them into the store and have them do it).

Warning, do NOT stake- New Glitch for stat boost.
Just to clear things up... We're allowing the RWT thread because as of right now, the names being listed are only listing actions taken by Jagex. Your right, we can't know 100% why the action was taken, but that action was taken is a demonstration that rules were broken. For all the similarity, these really aren't that similar, not from a moderating perspective. We have a lot more issues with videos of scammers, including potentially compromised accounts (which has happened in the past). It is also worth considering that you potentially do people a disservice by naming names in cases like this. If you want to show the scam with the names blanked, that'd great. It shows people what's going on and why it's dangerous, and that is helpful. By not revealing the name you put put people on edge around everyone, rather than just the people named. This is a safer situation for people to be in than looking out for a handful of specific names. The policy will remain that Jagex needs to take action first. If you see posts violating this, then report them, but don't use their existence as an excuse for you to break the rules too. It doesn't work like that. If you disagree with the action taken here, then you can bring it up with myself, or another administrator in private message, and we'll go from there. This thread is not the place to debate moderator policy, and I do not want to see it continue here.

The Back Room
I do like that scene. And while I don't believe that's why they implemented the 6 hour kick, it is probably a bonus that it can make you reconsider what your doing. Obviously not enough though :P My best guess is that they originally put that in so that the log in server would know your now logged out even if the server was unable to say so, to prevent people from getting stuck in crashed servers for days at a time.

Today...
Decided the approach I was taking for my project was kind of crazy. Most/all of the code I wrote last night is still useful, though some of it will need minor modifications as it was orinally inteded to work with more classes than the final version will have (final version will only be two, unless I can figure out a GUI which I think adds a third). Unfortunately, I am now working on the file I/O, though I suppose it's good to get the hard stuff out of the way. It's quite a learning experiance, though it's starting to make my head hurt. Now I need to take the time to actually read the chapter through before I go on, or this is going to take hours.

Same, I don't actually use the desktop for much. The programs I use the most are pinned, and for just about everything else I just hit the windows key and start typing. By now my computer knows what programs I use, so it's normally just window key > keyword > enter and boom, I have the program I wanted. Once in a blue moon I use the arrow keys. I do still have desktop icons though, as I normally start there when I have nothing running.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
Not really weird actually. The mechanisim that keeps you from being attracted to your own family relies on repeated proximity during a specific age range. If someone isn't around enough during that time, they are never established as off limits. The assumption your body makes is that the people you shouldn't procreate with are a major part of your life, and it tends to work quite well, though it can fail if you don't say, see your cousin that often. From a genetic stand point, procreation with first counsins isn't typically a problem, as long as it doesn't happen over successive generations.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Just a tip, but I might actually do something with her before I try to kiss her.

Today...
With exam season coming up, I tracked this article down and gave it another read. Nothing like combining the stress relief of humor with legitimate advice. In particular, I find myself wishing that osmosis actually did work; that I could simply sacrifice a good nights sleep by using a textbook as a pillow and absorb all the knowledge contained by morning. I was looking through my computer textbook and found some more interesting stuff I could probably use in my project, but realistically I am not going to have the time to learn that much stuff beyond what we actually leaned in class, and I need to be careful to make sure I actually do include some nice features. Also a first for me is planning out the program. I get the feeling I will be doing a lot more of that in the future. I've just never written anything big enough I couldn't plan it in my head before.

20-Nov-2012 - Evolution of Combat: Now Live!
Completing the entire thing again, getting all legendary gives you another 21 books. All of which are equivalent to the Jack of Trades books, and only usable on combat. It would seem I was answering a question I made up

Today...
Finally got a look at the final computer programming project. It looks like a lot of fun, and the limits have been removed on what we can do, as in, if we can teach ourselves/already know more advanced stuff than has been done in class, we are allowed to use it to gain points for impressiveness (the whole point is to showcase your knowledge and abilities). And our professor will attempt to crash our programs in front of the class for added fun  So my first job will probably be writing up some code to make sure my program knows what to do if someone starts giving it input it doesn't expect. And if I become a time wizard I might be able to learn and hammer out a GUI in time as well. Should be an interesting week next week.

20-Nov-2012 - Evolution of Combat: Now Live!
They may have upped the difficulty of dunge, but at least solo, it's still a total cakewalk. After deciding that trying to maul it wasn't a spectacular idea (though I remember dragon fire being a lot more lethal than that, I could have taken a couple more hits easy), I made myself a rapier and took him down. The much reduced damage made it the longest fight except the trio boss, who keep spending half the fight immune to me (but that's okay becuase I just charge up my adrenaline while I wait). The combat triangle means nothing, except perhaps if I encounter a super mage, they might be difficult to hit. And my auto attacks seem to be in momentum mode since most of my abilities hit at about 1100, and my auto attacks are regularly in the 1200-2300 range.

Well Known RWT'rs banned.
They could do better than an ip block though. Their JAG system uses something more unique to the computer to identify you, though I'm not sure what. I know changing say a graphics driver will cause your computer to become unrecognized though. It's just as easy to bypass, changing a driver isn't very hard to do. But it's a lot more effort than changing your ip address. Perhaps they should look into that.
